    Earlier Labour’s Steve Race was declared as the winner in the Exeter seat, with 18,225 votes - a share of 45.3%.

    He said: “I think people across the country have voted for change today. Now it leaves the Labour Party with the big task of trying to grow our economy and start to rebuild our services, a task that I believe the Labour Party will be up to.”

    Tessa Tucker, from the Conservatives said: “It has clearly been a difficult evening but I’m really proud of the campaign we’ve put forward here in Exeter.

    “I think there’ll be certainly a moment of reflection tomorrow and we go from there, we rebuild and start again.”

  2. Mangnall loses to Voaden in South Devonpublished at 05:09 British Summer Time 5 July

    The Liberal Democrats' Caroline Voaden was declared as winner of the South Devon seat, with 22,540 votes – a share of 46% of the vote.

    She gained the seat from Conservative candidate Anthony Mangnall who came in second place with 15,413 votes and a 31.5% share.

    Michael Bagley, from Reform UK, came in third, with 6,363 votes and a share of 13%.

  3. Tiverton & Minehead - the figurespublished at 04:54 British Summer Time 5 July

    Rachel Gilmour, the new MP in Tiverton & Minehead, won 18,326 votes - a 38.6% share of the vote.

    Ian Liddell-Grainger, from the Conservative Party, received 14,819 votes, a 31.2% share, followed by Fred Keen, from Reform UK, who received 7,787 votes and a 16.4% share of the vote.

    Martin Wrigley from the Liberal Democrats was declared as the winner in Newton Abbot, with 15,201 votes - a share of 31.7%.

    Conservative Anne Marie Morris - who held the seat from 2010 - finished in second place with 12,955 votes – a share of 27%.

    Christopher Hilditch, from Reform UK, finished in third place with 8,494 votes – and a share of 17.7%.

    Reacting to his win in Plymouth Moor View, Fred Thomas said: “It has been an absolute honour to talk to so many Plymouth residents and to see them go out and vote for change has been really inspiring and I cannot wait to be part of the next Labour government.

    “Plymouth has voted for change, hope, and the idea we can have better for our community and our city, and I’m absolutely delighted.

    "It's the honour of my life.”

    Fred Thomas is the new Labour MP in Plymouth Moor View after winning 17,665 votes and a 41.2% share of the vote.

    Johnny Mercer received 12,061 votes and a 28.1% share of the vote, followed by Shaun Hooper from Reform UK - who won 9,670 votes and a 22.6% share of the vote.

    Plymouth Moor View had previously been held by the Conservatives and Johnny Mercer since 2015.

    Johnny Mercer, who was the Conservative minister for veterans' affairs, has lost his seat to Labour in Plymouth Moor View.

    Fred Thomas won 17,665 votes, beating Mercer who took 12,061.

    So far this morning in Devon, four seats have been declared.

    Three of those have been gained by the Liberal Democrats from the Conservatives - Newton Abbot, North Devon and Torbay.

    Exeter was a Labour hold.

    The verification of ballots is now complete in Torridge & Tavistock and the count is making a slow but sure start.

    The turnout here has been declared as 68.24%.

    Sources on the floor are suggesting a Conservative win, in line with exit polls, but a close race is expected among the rest, but only time will tell with the declaration not expected until 06:00 BST.

  14. North Devon third constituency to turn yellowpublished at 03:57 British Summer Time 5 July

    Ian Roome, the new Liberal Democrat MP for North Devon, ousted Selaine Saxby, with 21,820 votes and a 42.4% share of the vote.

    Ms Saxby received 15,076 votes, a 29.3% share, losing a 27.3% share of the vote.

    The North Devon seat has been held by the Conservatives since 2015 after they gained the constituency from the Liberal Democrats.

    Labour's Steve Race was declared as the winner in Exeter, with 18,225 votes, a share of 45.3%.

    In second place, Tessa Tucker from the Conservatives received 6,288 votes, a share of 15.6%.

    Ms Tucker was followed closely by Andrew Bell from the Green Party - 5,907 votes, a share of 14.7%.

    Previously, Ben Bradshaw was the MP for Exeter. He announced he was stepping down at the next election in 2022 after more than 27 years as the city's MP.

    Any result in Central Devon is not expected for "a couple of hours", according to organisers.

    The exit poll prediction is that the seat is expected to be a tight contest between the Conservative minister Mel Stride and Labour's Ollie Pearson.

    Steve Darling, from the Liberal Democrats, has been declared as winner of the Torbay seat - with 18,937 votes - a 41.1% share of the vote.

    He gained the seat from Conservative candidate Kevin Foster - who came in second place with 13,588 - and 29.5% of the vote.

    Gordon Scott, from Reform UK, came in third place with 18.8% of the vote in Torbay - receiving 8,660 votes.
