It’s clear talking to a very reliable Tory source that they are expecting to lose most of their MPs in the region.
The Liberal Democrats have gained Newton Abbot from the Conservatives - with Martin Wrigley being declared the winner.
Michael Bagley, the Reform UK candidate in South Devon who voted Conservative at the last election, said his party is mainly taking votes from the Conservatives, but he has spoken to Labour voters on the doorstep who said they were considering voting for him.
"I think we have taken a lot of votes from the Conservative candidate, from Anthony Mangnall, and you can feel sympathetic in one sense, but we just had to stand...and give people an opportunity to vote for something different."
The Labour party has held on to Exeter - with Steve Race winning 18,225 votes.
The first constituency to be declared in Devon is the Torbay constituency - where the Liberal Democrats have gained the seat from the Conservatives.

Candidates are keeping a close eye on the count for Central Devon as the ballot slips that will decide their future are sorted into piles.
Jeffrey Leeks, from Reform UK wearing a white and turquoise rosette, can be seen here with Labour candidate Ollie Pearson, sporting a red tie, just a few steps away.
The exit poll showed Central Devon to be a very close contest between the Conservative cabinet minister Mel Stride and Mr Pearson.

Very busy here as expected with three constituencies being counted at the Plymouth Life Centre.
A moment of excitement as Dogs at Polling Stations was taken a step further and a dog called Nancy ran into the counting hall. An appropriate name considering Nancy Astor had her seat in Plymouth Sutton in 1919.
Counting has started for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, external and Plymouth Moor View.
South West Devon boxes took longer to arrive as it is a much more rural constituency.
The turnout for the South West Devon constituency was confirmed as 67.48%.

The Liberal Democrats election agent Todd Olive tells me this seat is "too close to call".

Conservative candidate Kevin Foster says it has been "a disastrous night" for the Conservative Party.
"The exit polls clearly point to a very difficult night for the party, we've seen historic loss of seats, and a significant loss of vote share," he says.
Mr Foster adds: "We also need to regain some of the basic principles of being a professional and competent political party.
"Things like the betting scandal, it's almost unbelievable that people were placing bets rather than getting on with the job of delivering an election campaign..."
In 2019 Mr Foster won the seat in Torbay for the Conservatives, with 29,863 votes, and a majority of 17,749.

The BBC's Georgia Cornish is at the Torridge & Tavistock count in Bideford.
The pace on the floor is picking up a little as boxes are trickling in from as far south as Tavistock.
The quiet mumbles of time-filling chats have been replaced by the sound of paper corners being swiped as they're counted and the patiently waiting candidates finally have something to discuss with their teams.

A Labour source says it's too close to call here at the Central Devon count where Conservative cabinet minister Mel Stride is fighting to retain his seat in the face of a strong challenge from Labour.
Votes are still being verified with the turnout expected to be announced shortly.
Candidates from Labour, the Greens, Reform, and the Liberal Democrats are all here, while Mr Stride is yet to arrive.

One of the counters at the South Devon count is making good use of the time between verification and counting.
The big question: Is the Exit Poll right to project that orange will be the colour of the night in this constituency?
All of the boxes have arrived here at the Totnes Pavilion Leisure Centre, but we are still waiting for turnout figures.
