  2. Could there be a Welsh Tory wipeout?published at 04:28 British Summer Time 5 July

There are three Tory held seats left to declare - but the noises coming from many of them are bad for the party.

The Liberal Democrats are talking up their chances in Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe, and there are suggestions Labour might have done it in Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr.

Welsh Secretary David TC Davies said early on that he was going to lose in Monmouthshire.

Labour and Plaid have scored gains in all the other Tory held seats. If the above all went, the party will be left with no Welsh representation in Westminster.

Former Welsh secretary Simon Hart was in no mood to answer questions after he failed to win the Caerfyrddin seat.

Asked where the Conservative party go from here, he says: "I tell you where I'm going from here, I've got to jump in a car and disappear... it's very late and I'm very tired."

The people of Ynys Môn have chosen "a positive vision for their communities", the new Plaid Cymru MP for the constituency has said. Llinos Medi promised to hold the Labour government to account and "demand investment for our communities", saying that as a council leader she has seen "how relentless cuts have gutted public budgets and unleashed hardship".

Ynys Môn was a key target seat for Plaid Cymru, which has also won in Caerfyrddin.

Simon Hart - who is his party's chief whip - was pushed into third in Caerfyrddin.

Robert Buckland, who was contesting Swindon in England, also lost his seat.

Current Welsh secretary David TC Davies said early on he is likely to lose his seat in Monmouthshire, although it is yet to declare.

  14. A good night for Labour and a bleak one for Conservativespublished at 04:03 British Summer Time 5 July

    David Deans
    BBC Wales politics reporter

Labour have had a good night in Wales so far, taking six seats off the Conservatives and are expected to take more.

The party has won Wrexham, Bangor Aberconwy, Vale of Glamorgan, Clwyd North, Mid and South Pembrokeshire and Bridgend from the Conservatives. There could be a Labour gain in Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr, too.

The Conservatives are having a bleak night. Welsh Secretary David TC Davies has basically conceded in Monmouthshire, which is yet to declare. Three other former Welsh Secretaries have lost their seats - Alun Cairns, Simon Hart and Stephen Crabb.

Plaid Cymru are also having a decent night. They started off cautious about the prospects of any gains, only to go on and grab Ynys Mon in a tight race with the Conservative Virginia Crosbie, and Caerfyrddin where Labour chucked the kitchen sink in the form of Sir Keir Starmer.

It expects to hold another two seats - the party would be very happy with the result.

The Liberal Democrats are saying they're optimistic in Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe - which would be another loss for the Tories. Reform are very unlikely to win any seats, but they have come second in a number of Labour seats.

Plaid Cymru have won Caerfyrddin from the Conservatives - meaning Simon Hart has lost out returning to Parliament.

It was one of Plaid's key target seats - their candidate Ann Davies won with 15520 votes.

Labour's Martha O'Neil came second with 10985 votes with former Conservative cabinet minister Simon Hart third with 8825 votes.

Farming in the Llanarthne area since 1992, Ann Davies is a county councillor and sits in the council cabinet with responsibility for rural affairs.
