It was a truly cinematic evening this week as the Strictly contestants really embodied their characters for movie week.

As ever there is a lot to delve into.

Actor Lewis Cape became unrecognisable as he embodied The Mask of Zorro in his performance, absolutely smashing his way to the top of the leaderboard, beating out actress Amber Davies and Olympian Harry Aikines-Aryeetey who were hot on his heels.

We saw influencer Ellie Goldstein live out her Barbie dreams, as she did daring dips, squats and swirls, in a silver sequin jumpsuit.

There were some out of this world performances from Hollywood correspondent Ross King, whose Thunderbirds themed performance didn't quite land with the judges, although it was seen as an improvement on previous weeks.

But it was performer La Voix's Waltz that left the audience and judges in a stunned silence, as she embraced her "serious side" in her rendition of the Mary Poppins classic - Feed The Birds (Tuppence A Bag). Guest mentor Cynthia Erivo called her performance "beautiful" and "vulnerable".

But movies do have endings, and they’re not always happy.

Someone will have to go home tomorrow.

One shimmy wrong or lax posture will see the credits roll for one couple.

We'll find out the results in tomorrow's show, which is on BBC One and iPlayer tomorrow at 19:15 BST.

Meanwhile, we're wrapping up our coverage now - thanks for reading!

So, there we have it. Movie Week 2025 is done and dusted!

It was another great performance from Lewis Cope. And Motsi certainly agreed, as she gave the Emmerdale actor the first 10 of the series.

Alex and Ellie also had strong performances, but no one enjoyed it as much as Vicky Pattinson, who leaped into partner Kai’s arms upon learning they’d scored 25 points.

But Movie Week is about so much more than just the dances. The outfits! The film nostalgia!

And to top it off, we’ve had Cynthia Erivo herself – as Strictly’s first guest mentor - bringing a touch of Wicked glamour into the ballroom. Some of the stars (Amber, Ellie - I'm looking at you) were as starstruck as us - something we love to see.

  3. Shirley Ballas will have tie-breaking power in tomorrow's eliminationspublished at 20:37 BST 11 October

Shirley Ballas with her hands raised

As we've mentioned before, this year Strictly is shaking things up.

Judges vote for which couple they want to save out of the bottom following the Dance Off.

Previously if there was a tie, the deciding vote landed with the head judge, Shirley Ballas.

This year, that tie-breaking power will rotate between judges each week.

And we've just learned that tomorrow, the power sits with Shirley Ballas, who is no stranger to it.

  4. Voting is now openpublished at 20:32 BST 11 October

  5. Wait... Where's Stefan?published at 20:31 BST 11 October

If you're wondering where Stefan and Dianne are, they weren't able to dance this week.

Due to illness over the past few days, he has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, he will not dance this weekend.

In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne will receive a bye through to next week when they will hopefully be able to dance again.

Lewis and partner on Strictly Come Dancing

For the final performance of the week actor Lewis Cope and Katya take on the classic film The Mask of Zorro.

The pair practice fencing during rehearsals to get into character, and it seems to work.

They dive, spin and swirl across the stage with the precision, stealth, oozing desire as they do the Paso Double to the song The Plaza of Execution.

Wearing a mask, and a black suit Lewis is truly in his element, as the passion reaches fever point between him and Katya.

"I thought you were extraordinary," says Shirley, who adds that he really became the man behind the mask.

She praises the storytelling and refinement of the performance.

    Now, how do they score?

    Craig: 9

    Motsi: 10

    Shirley: 9

    Anton: 9

    Total: 37

It's the first 10 points score of the series and the highest score of the night.

A good week for this pair last week, who finished second on the leaderboard scoring 27 points, leaving them with a total of 55. Can they repeat that this week?

Can Olympian Harry Aikines-Aryeetey aka Gladiator Nitro become the King of the jungle?

That's his challenge this week as he does the Salsa to I Always Wanted A Brother from Mufasa: The Lion King.

Wearing African print outfits with a modern twist, Harry and Karen truly do look like lions on the prowl. The other contestants should watch out.

The audience absolutely roars at the end of the performance.

"Those lifts were off the charts!" says Motsi.

Shirley says that Harry is going from "strength to strength" and blushes as she says he is "extraordinary" in every department.

Harry and Karen are up next, and they're performing a Salsa to I Always Wanted a Brother from Mufasa: The Lion King.

They'll also probably be wanting a higher score than the last week. The 26 points awarded to them by the judges left them in ninth place on the leaderboard, with a total of 45.

Award-winning actor Alex Kingston goes to see Vanessa Williams, who is playing Miranda Priestly in the Broadway show the Devil Wears Prada for a little advice.

Armed with the signature white hair, a stunning silk suit and the demeanour of a fashion editor - Alex is ready.

She powers through the quickstep with a posture Miranda Priestly would be proud of. Haughty, powerful and oh so fashionable, Alex nails it.

"That's all" she says at the end of the performance.

The judges seem to think it was amazing, as Anton says, he "really enjoyed it".

    The scores are in:

Remember when the Barbie film came out on the same day as Oppenheimer?

Don't worry, we're not about to see a dance inspired by the development of the atomic bomb.

Ellie and Vito will be doing the Samba to Dance The Night from Barbie.

An eleventh placed finish for these two last week after scoring 23 points - 40 in total - let's see if some of that Barbie world inspiration can score them a little higher tonight.

    Danai Nesta Kupemba
    Live reporter

Vicky Pattinson becomes a 1920's flapper girl as she dances the Charleston to the song A Little Party Never Killed Nobody from The Great Gatsby.

She throws her legs in the air alongside her partner Kai, who throws her in the air with ease. Her golden dress and blonde wig make for an immersive performance.

Vicky is breathless and panting at the end of an energy packed performance.

"You got through it," says Craig, "I loved all the lifts you did."

Shirley says despite the fact that Vicky gets "nervous,” she came with confidence tonight.

But what do the judges think?

    Craig: 5

    Motsi: 7

    Shirley: 6

    Anton: 7

Vicky leaps into Kai's arms as she hears her scores.

Jimmy and partner performing on Strictly

Could former professional footballer Jimmy be the next James Bond?

Well, this week he may be throwing his hat in the ring for 007, as he takes on No Time To Die from the Bond film of the same name.

He is definitely smooth and suave, as he does a Rhumba with partner Lauren.

Shirley seems to think he could take on the role as he says Jimmy is a "gorgeous Bond".

"I wasn't expecting much from you," says Craig Revel Horwood, "but I was pleasantly surprised" he adds.

Motsi Mabuse agrees as she stands up for them and tells them it was a great performance.

But what are the all-important scores?

    Craig: 7

    Motsi: 7

    Shirley: 6

No Time to Die is the soundtrack to our next performance.

Jimmy's had a fair few top four finishes in his career, and it was no different last week. He and Lauren scored 25 points, leaving them fourth on the leaderboard with a total of 52.

  18. It's been a good showing from Amber, George and La Voixpublished at 19:37 BST 11 October

    Noor Nanji

We’re more than halfway through – here are my thoughts so far.

Amber Davies continues to go from strength to strength - and her excitement showed, as she and her partner Nikita jumped around the stage for several minutes after they scored highly with the judges.

“They’ll stop soon,” the hosts quipped.

Considering she was drafted in at the last minute to replace Dani Dyer, it’s pretty remarkable.

It’s been a good night too for George Clarke and La Voix.

For Ross King, the scores were less impressive – mostly 5s, and one 4. But that’s still his highest score of the series.
