  1. Kardashian recalls asking handcuffed receptionist for helppublished at 12:56 British Summer Time

She says she kept asking the receptionist "what's happening? What's happening?" as she knew he spoke English.

He was very calm and said he didn't know.

"And I think that confused me a bit more - not understanding if he was a part of this or he wasn't," says Kardashian.

The receptionist, Ouatiki, is sitting right in front of me on the bench behind Kris Jenner. He looks very serious.

"I understand now how shocked he was and he was just a victim like myself and we were in this together," Kardashian says.

    There's no reaction from Ouatiki.

  2. Kardashian on verge of sleep when men intrudedpublished at 12:54 British Summer Time

Kim says the men had brought upstairs a man - the night receptionist, Abderrahmane Ouatiki - who was handcuffed. She recognised him.

"I obviously was very confused when they first walked in - I had to make sense of what was happening... I was just about to fall asleep," she says, adding that she had "also fallen asleep naked with just a robe on, so I was just flustered".

The only thing you hear in the courtroom is frantic typing from journalists.

Kardashian says her sister, friend and mum were out for the night.

"We were leaving the next morning and I was just packing up, at 03:00 I was just getting ready to go to bed."

This is clearly difficult for her. Her voice quivers and she's fidgeting.

She says she heard noises on the stairs and called out for her sister, but no one answered. Two people came into her bedroom who she "thought were police officers", she says.

Meanwhile, Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner, sitting on the bench right in front of me is clutching a paper tissue. She seems emotional.

    Laura Gozzi
Reporting from Palais de Justice court in Paris

She has started her account of what happened.

"I came to Paris for Fashion Week, and Paris is always a place that I love so much. I used to walk around the city when I woke up in the middle of the night at 03:00 or 04:00, take walks around the city," she says.

"I always felt really safe... I'd stop in little hotels for hot chocolate, it was magical."

"But when I came for Fashion Week during that trip, it changed everything."

Her voice is breaking. She looks up and apologises, wiping away tears.

Kim Kardashian's bodyguard helped her down the stairs as she made her way to the stand.

At the stand, she is asked to introduce herself.

"Hi. I'm Kim Kardashian and I just want to thank everyone, especially the French authorities for allowing me to be here and testify today and allowing me to share my truth."

She is standing hands crossed, looking poised.

The interpreter stands right next to her and translates the court judge's words - he is explaining how French courts work and how this case has played out.

She asks whether she needs to go through everything that happened and is told yes. So she begins.

Kardashian, now in court, is wearing a low-cut black suit jacket with long black skirt, very shiny jewellery, and has her hair up.

Kris Jenner, her mother, is right next to her. They're talking to her two lawyers, maybe half a metre from me.

Lawyer is whispering in her ear as Jenner is standing right by her in checked jacket and Lanvin sunglasses.

Kardashian is right in front of me and looks slightly intimidated. Jenner puts a hand around her waist.

The star is now standing here with her hands crossed at her waist, looks nervous, slight smiles at journalists.

Wide eyed, she goes to sit on the civil parties bench accompanied by her lawyers. Three bodyguards surround the civil parties bench.

Ten people are on trial in Paris, accused of robbing celebrity Kim Kardashian.

She was allegedly held at gunpoint at a Parisian hotel in October 2016 by robbers dressed as policemen.

They stole $10m (£7.5m) in jewellery and cash, and a $4m engagement ring.

Kardashian has since spoken about the trauma the incident caused her, and court has heard that she has increased her security detail since the robbery.

Two of the defendants, Yunice Abbas and Aomar Ait Khedache, admit the charges. The rest deny them.

They are known at the "grandpa robbers", due to the older age of most defendants.

Most of the alleged participants in the robbery were born in the 1950s, leading French media to dub them the "grandpa robbers".

One has since passed away, and another, aged 81, will be excused as he is suffering from advanced dementia.

Almost nine years have passed since the incident.

  15. Night receptionist left with PTSD after heistpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time

The five robbers used a night receptionist to gain entry to Kardashian’s room.

The man on shift, Abderrahmane Ouatiki, was also forced to act as an interpreter between the gang and Kardashian.

At a previous day in the trial, the court was told by Ouatiki's lawyers that the receptionist was left scarred by the events of October 2016 and that he suffered from PTSD.

"He suffered from the way the heist was romanticised and by the way the robbers are being described as 'grandpa robbers'. That's not what he saw - he just saw robbers," one of his lawyers said.

On Monday, Ouatiki said the American star was "completely hysterical" and "in a state of complete terror" as a "very nervous" man pointed a gun at her.

"He was very aggressive and she was utterly terrified," said Ouatiki.

A large red double door is what greets you at the Hotel de Pourtalès, or the No Address hotel, where Kim Kardashian stayed in October 2016.

It's here, at this elusive and exclusive residence, that she was robbed.

The hotel is comprised of a series of nine luxury suites and two rooms.

Its website claims it's "more confidential" than a luxury hotel, and offers an unrivalled privacy. Services include bodyguards on request, chauffeurs, and day and night concierge teams.

You must book for a six night minimum, with the cheapest rate coming in at €1,600 (£1,345) per night. But not everybody can book, you must rich, famous or referred by other celebrities.

Vanity Fair reported that it had, external lax security and no CCTV cameras for guests to enjoy maximum privacy, and a door code known to many as it hadn't been changed in years.

Simone Harouche has referenced a couple of times how Kim Kardashian's security detail has changed since the heist.

Ahead of the trial starting, I spoke to KJ Matthews, a veteran entertainment journalist based in LA, who recalled that being "shocked" that Kardashian had been held at gunpoint in Oct 2016.

She told me that the biggest change in Kardashian was her security detail.

"If one thing changed the most in her life is how she is protected. She had two children then, now she's got four. She’s worth more now, she’s got a number of businesses – and so the team that protects her family and security has massively changed."

She also added that the people protecting Kardashian now are likely "very good at keeping people confused as to where she’s staying, when she’s arriving, what she’s going to."

"All of that needed to start happening after the robbery," Matthews said.

  18. Terror, trauma and therapy: The robbery as explained by Simone Harouchepublished at 11:13 British Summer Time

    Imogen James
    Live reporter

Court this morning heard emotional testimony from former celebrity stylist and designer Simone Harouche.

She explained that as she slept in a room below Kim Kardashian in a Parisian hotel suite, she heard screams of "terror" coming from the stars room.

She told court she heard Kardashian pleading for her life.

Harouche says she ran to the bathroom and hid in the shower, while texting Kardashian's bodyguard, who was accompanying another Kardashian to a nightclub.

Then she heard Kardashian call her name and she saw her hop down the stairs and come into her room. She had tape around her mouth.

She was wearing only a robe. Harouche feared the star had been sexually assaulted.

Since the robbery, both of them have been to therapy, and Harouche changed careers to become a designer. She says she remains vulnerable to loud noises.

Up next should be Kim Kardashian herself. We'll be following all the key moments from her testimony right here.

Judge De Pas says that Aomar Ait Khedache - one of the two who have admitted their guilt - has asked to pass on a message to Harouche.

He is sitting to the left of Harouche. He is deaf and mute, so De Pas reads it for him.

"I won't ask for forgiveness, it would be too easy. Things in my head are confused, I can't find the words. Just know that if there is a hole I am ready to go straight into it."

It's not clear to us in the courtroom what precisely Khedache means, but the judge has interpreted that he is apologising. He also sent an apology note to Kardashian from jail several years ago.

The judge asks Harouche whether she has anything to say in response. She says no.

The court is now taking a break for 90 minutes.
