About $10m (£7.5m) worth of jewellery was taken in the raid.

This included a $4m diamond engagement ring from Kardashian’s ex-husband Kanye West, as well as earrings, necklaces and a Rolex watch.

Just days before, she had showed the ring off on her Instagram stories, to millions of followers.

The ring was specifically demanded by the thieves. The jewels were never found but police think they were broken up and sold on.

  3. Kim Kardashian to give evidence in Paris robbery trialpublished at 07:52 British Summer Time

After waiting nearly nine years, Kim Kardashian will give evidence in a French court today as she faces 10 men accused of robbing her in October 2016.

Kardashian, 44, is expected to take the stand in the afternoon to give her version of events of the burglary, which saw her tied up and held at gunpoint in a luxury suite where she was staying during Paris Fashion Week.

They took off with $10m (£7.5m) worth of jewels, including her engagement ring from then-fiancé Kanye West.

The incident left Kardashian traumatised - she's since said she thought she was going to die on the night.

Her stylist Simone Harouche, who was awoken by the commotion and raised the alarm to Kardashian’s bodyguard, is expected to appear in court first.

The men, dubbed by French media as the "grandpa robbers" due to their age, have been on trial since the end of April.

Twelve were eventually due to appear in court, although one died in March and another has been excused due to health reasons. Of the remaining 10, all but two deny any involvement in the burglary.

Our reporter Laura Gozzi is in the Palais de Justice court, and will be covering the trial live.
