    It feels like the changing of the guard here at Derby Arena.

    Veteran parliamentarian Dame Margaret Beckett walked into the reception area to a huge cheers from Labour activists and candidates.

    She chatted to Labour's three hopeful MPs here including Baggy Shanker, who could replace her in the coming hours.

    Beckett said the exit poll "took her aback" despite the polls throughout the campaign showing a Labour landslide.

    She said this Conservative parliament had been the "worst she'd ever seen" and suggested Sir Keir Starmer has "more experience" than Tony Blair did when he gained power in a similar fashion in 1997.

    Still no results here but counting seems to be slowing down.

    The Reform candidate in Bolsover Robert Reaney just told me he’s “tired but elated”.

    He reckons he has definitely beaten the Conservatives into second place and says he is neck-and-neck with Labour.
