    Martin Jones
    BBC West of England

Here in Bath they're counting the seat of Bath as well as North East Somerset & Hanham.

    Verification has just started.

Bath has been Lib Dem for most of the last 22 years, and Wera Hobhouse will be hoping to be returned again.

In North East Somerset & Hanham, the Conservative Jacob Rees-Mogg is up against the man who used to be the MP for the same area 14 years ago, Labour's Dan Norris.

    Results expected sometimes after 4am

  3. Welcome to the counts in Yeovilpublished at 22:44 British Summer Time 4 July

Reporter Michelle Ruminski doing a selfie at the counts in Yeovil

Hello from the Westlands' Entertainment Venue in Yeovil where two Somerset counts are already under way.

The first is Yeovil where the big question is will Conservative Marcus Fysh hold on to his seat and fend off the Liberal Democrat Adam Dance?

The second count is for the Glastonbury and Somerton Constituency. Will the Liberal Democrat Sarah Dyke get re-elected after winning the Somerton and Frome by-election last July? She's up for a re-match against the Conservative candidate Faye Purbrick.

    The night is young!

  4. Bridgwater: Big Labour targetpublished at 22:17 British Summer Time 4 July

Good evening from the count for the Bridgwater constituency.

The result is not expected here until around 0400 BST.

The old Bridgwater and West Somerset constituency was a safe Conservative seat, but does the boundary change give Labour a chance here?

  6. Yeovil: Big Lib Dem targetpublished at 22:08 British Summer Time 4 July

    Michelle Ruminski
    Political reporter, BBC Somerset

Famous for its glove-making and producing helicopters - Yeovil is one of the biggest constituencies in Somerset.

The seat represents the largest population areas in south Somerset, including Yeovil, Chard, Crewkerne and Ilminster.

It has been held by Conservative MP, Marcus Fysh, since 2015.

The seat is now a target for the Liberal Democrats, after the party gained control of Somerset Council in 2022.

  7. Welcome to live coverage of the general election in Somersetpublished at 22:01 British Summer Time 4 July

    Chris Kelly
    Digital Editor, BBC West

Welcome to live coverage of the general election in Somerset.

We have reporters at every count and will bring you the latest throughout the night.

There's a lot of change in Somerset: new names for constituencies and maybe, new faces as MPs by the early hours of the morning.

Political reporters Ruth Bradley and Michelle Ruminski wrote about the boundary changes earlier in the year. But how much impact will those changes have on the story of the 2024 election?

In the changed Yeovil seat can the Conservative Marcus Fysh hang on against the Liberal Democrat challenger Adam Dance? And at the other end of Somerset, will Jacob Rees-Mogg be able to cling on in the face of Labour's metro mayor Dan Norris?

We'll have more on those battles and sub plots from our reporters soon.

As well as live coverage on this page, our colleagues at BBC Radio Somerset are on air all night. Adam Crowther is on now and you can listen live at the top of this page.

  8. We'll have live results on this page after 10pm tonightpublished at 20:02 British Summer Time 4 July

You will also be able to listen to live coverage from your BBC Local Radio station at the top of this page.
