Also here is Chris Shipley.
He’s standing as an independent candidate for The Wrekin and said he chose to put himself forward to be a local voice for the area - he lives in Shifnal.
Of the last six weeks he says: “I’m forgetting what sleep feels like.
“Working and doing the campaign at the same time is very draining.
“Once all this is over, regardless of the outcome tonight, I am very much going to be looking forward to sleeping.”
He still says he might consider going through the process again in future.

Roh Yakobi, Labour’s candidate for The Wrekin, has now arrived at the count.
There has been lots of shaking of hands with the Labour camp who are already assembled.
He’s also promised to speak to us once the result is announced.

South Shropshire's Conservative candidate Stuart Anderson has arrived at the count.
He says he’s tired after at lot of door knocking. He says the exit poll “is not a good scenario”, but wouldn’t be drawn on a result here tonight.

Shaun Davies, the Labour candidate from Telford has also arrived and is walking around the counting tables.
Mr Davies is currently the leader of Telford & Wrekin Council.
Telford as a constituency is unusual as the council is Labour, and has seen its control grow in recent years, while the previous MP Lucy Allan was a Tory, and also increased her majority from 720 in 2017 to more than 10,000 in 2019.

Shrewsbury's Conservative MP of 19 years, Daniel Kawczynski, wouldn't talk about his plans outside politics if he loses tonight.
"None of your business," he said.
When asked if he'll stay in Shrewsbury, he replied with the same. He's been in the sports hall counting, and seems on edge.

Mark Pritchard, who has been the Conservative MP for The Wrekin since 2005, has arrived at the count at the Telford Tennis Centre.
In 2019 he won with 31,029 votes, over 18,000 more than the second-placed Labour candidate.
He’s promised to speak to us later.

Verification is also complete for The Wrekin, being counted at Telford Tennis Centre alongside Telford.
Turnout is 63.57%, that’s down on 69.2% from 2019, and the lowest since at least 2005.
It’s a total of 50,183 votes cast.
Just the results for both constituencies to come now!
Initial estimates were that we would get those between 02:45 and 03:30 BST for Telford and 03:00 and 03:45 for The Wrekin

At the Shropshire Council count centre in Shrewsbury, all the ballot boxes have arrived for the local constituency.
They’re still coming in for North Shropshire and South Shropshire, and we're not expecting turnout figures for a while.
It takes so long to get the ballot boxes from the far reaches of the county as the staff have to lock up the polling stations and then take the boxes to a central point, from where they’re brought to Shrewsbury. It’s going to be a long night!
The incumbent Shrewsbury MP, Daniel Kawczynski, has arrived at the count. He's being challenged by Labour's Julia Buckley among a total field of seven.

We've just had our first turnout figure of the evening.
55.38% of eligible voters - 40,878 people - cast a ballot during the day in Telford.
That's down on 2019, when 62.1% voted.

BBC Radio Shropshire has been speaking to Telford & Wrekin Council returning officer Dave Sidaway.
Verification is underway he says, and mostly done, although we are still waiting for a few final boxes.
Hopefully should have turnout numbers in the next 20 minutes.
There are around 160 counters working here at the Telford Tennis Centre tonight.
Mr Sidaway said his team have been “awesome” in getting everything ready for polling day and the count over the last six weeks.
The returning officer is the person in charge of running the election at each council.

Samuel Cladingbowl, an 18-year-old independent candidate in North Shropshire, says polling day has been overwhelming and exciting. When asked, was it odd seeing his name on the ballot paper, he replied, “yes, it was a bit weird seeing my name written down. I almost voted for Helen Morgan. I want her to win”. He said he’s not expecting to win but happy to be gaining election experience.

I’ve also spoken to Alan Adams, the Reform UK candidate for Telford.
He was publicly backed before the election by the outgoing Conservative MP Lucy Allan, which led to her being suspended by her party.
Ms Allan had announced last year she wouldn’t be standing for election this time.
He said the last few weeks have been “hectic”.
“It has been tiring but it has been lovely actually meeting all of the Telford people.”
The response on the doorsteps, he said, has been “really positive.

There’s already representation for a few of the parties here in Telford.
I’ve just spoken to Anthony Lowe who is standing for The Wrekin for the Lib Dems.
He said the past six weeks of campaigning have been “glorious fun”.
Asked how he is feeling about tonight he said: “I am looking forward to tonight.
“I don’t expect to win, but it is not the winning it is the taking part.”

We’re all getting set up here at the Telford Tennis Centre, ready for the first boxes to arrive.
They’re expecting the first one pretty soon after polls close.
There’s already a few parties represented, including a group from Labour.
Voting has been taking place throughout the day across the UK in the 2024 General Election.
