    Cat Eccles

Labour's Cat Eccles, who took Stourbridge from the Conservatives, sait it was "an honour" to be an MP in her home town.

"It's absolutely incredible... It's where my friends are, it's where my family is," she said.

"I'm not sure it's going to sink in probably until I've had quite a few hours' sleep."

Downing Street has Larry the cat but Stourbridge has George, the Stourbridge Junction station cat. Will he be taken to London to meet Larry?

"I think George's dad will be very upset if I tried to pinch him. But yeah I've got three cats of my own. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage with or without them in London, but we'll have to wait and see what happens."

But as Larry is reportedly quite feisty, Ms Eccles will probably leave her cats at home.

It is currently looking tight between Labour's Khalid Mahmood and an independent candidate.

Ms Phillips said it was the "worst election [she] had ever faced" and that one of her supporters had her tyres slashed while out canvassing.

In her speech, she said she was supposed to be joined by Jo Cox's family today, but that she "could not have allowed them" due to "aggressive and [violent]" behaviour.
