    Next up, Trump congratulates the man he says will be the next vice-president of the US: JD Vance.

    Again, the Republicans haven't yet been announced the winners of this election, but are just four electoral college votes shy of that.

    Trump asks Vance - who the crowd are cheering for - to say a few words. Vance takes to the mic and describes Trump's campaign as the "greatest political comeback ever".

    Making light of the "heat" he says he took for choosing Vance a few months ago, Trump says Vance was the right choice.

    Remember, though, he's still four electoral college votes off so hasn't technically won the race yet.

    For the two candidates, Pennsylvania was always the most prized possession of all the swing states - and among the very closest according to the opinion polls.

    Its projection for Donald Trump now puts him within breathing distance of the White House.

    The energy was absolutely electric when Fox News projected Donald Trump’s win in the presidential race. The whole room erupted with ear splitting cheers.

    His supporters are still high-fiving and smiling ear to ear. You get the sense that even they are in disbelief.

    Many had braced themselves to wait for perhaps days before a result. The sheer joy here is palpable.

    The crucial swing state of Pennsylvania has been projected for Donald Trump.

    Its 19 electoral college votes gets him to 265 overall, just short of the 270 required to win the presidency.

    The BBC's US partner CBS News says the race rating for Pennsylvania "leans" Trump.

    This is not an official projection, but it is good news for the Republican Party if the trend continues

    Pennsylvania is the prized swing state with 19 electoral college votes, more than any other battleground.
