I’m pleased that the SNP are doing well in the polls. I have never felt safer in Scotland, more sure my NHS is looked after, that my local MSP listens to me and responds quickly. I hope the SNP and other smaller parties have some influence or are listened to in Westminster as the old boys brigade needs brought into this century.

  3. 'Undue focus' on deficitpublished at 10:45

Natalie Bennett says the Greens' manifesto - due this week - will set out plans to cut the deficit "over the term of this Parliament" but she argues that there has been "an undue focus" on it.

She wants to focus instead on "the kind of society we want to build... a society that delivers for the common good, a society where every worker is paid a living wage, a society where we're investing in the future".

She adds: "Austerity has failed. It's failed even on its own terms."

Investment is needed in areas including social housing and renewable energy, she says.

UKIP will publish plans today for a "citizen's initiative" - a referendum held every two years that will allow voters to put one policy in the Queen's Speech. It will also promise to scrap first-past-the-post, curb postal voting, and bring in a new recall of MPs and councillors law.

All of the parties are making promises about what they will do if they get into power... so why can't they be doing these things already?

The Green Party is launching its election poster campaign with the message: "Vote big. Vote brave."

Speaking in Brighton, where the first - and so far only - Green Party MP was elected in 2010, leader Natalie Bennett says: "We want big changes. We don't want business as usual politics any more. Vote for what you believe in."

"Brighton Pavilion did that in 2010" when it elected Caroline Lucas, she adds.

I suffer with mental and physical health problems, I've lived in Edinburgh for over 19 years, but the more and more and more I listen to Nicola Sturgeon she sends ice-cold shivers up and down my spine, she never listens to anybody who has different opinions to hers, she shouts down other politicians in different parties when they are trying to speak, she is a modern-day Margaret Thatcher and as a vulnerable member of society I feel very, very frightened for my future.

    Hustings in Wantage, Oxfordshire

It's been said that campaigning for this general election has been kept away from real people... but in Wantage, Oxfordshire, all five candidates - Conservative, Green, Labour, Liberal Democrat and UKIP - turned out to talk to locals in the Market Square about sustainable housing. Peter Jay, the former British ambassador to the US, kicked off the debate, which attracted a crowd of about 200 in front of King Alfred's statue.

Citizens Advice gave me a voucher for the food bank... Mr Cameron said he would take care of the genuine disabled. He lied and will not be getting my vote.

    Victoria Derbyshire

Victoria Derbyshire asks the Conservatives' Matthew Hancock if he will "acknowledge that we were never all in it together, were we?"

Mr Hancock responds: "As a country, we can't help but be."

Any government would have had to address the deficit, he argues. It is not fair to leave debt "to our children and our children's children" he adds, insisting that cuts were made fairly.
