    Ronnie Campbell is re-elected as the MP for Blyth Valley with a majority of 9,229 votes. UKIP snatched second place from the Conservatives.

    The Conservatives won by 4,914 votes, with Liberal Democrats dropping to second place and Labour third.

    There were 38,528 votes cast in Wansbeck - a turnout of 60.89%.

    Labour's Ian Lavery won 19,267 votes (50.01%). Chris Galley for the Conservatives won 8,386 (21.77%), UKIP's Melanie Hurst won 7,014, up 15% on 2010, Tom Hancock for the Lib Dems polled 2,407, down 21%, and Christopher Hedley for the Greens won 1,454 votes.

    Anne-Marie Trevelyan wins Berwick-upon-Tweed for the Conservatives. The Tory party earlier secured a majority Government with 326 seats. As it stands, the Conservatives have 327.

    In August 2013, Liberal Democrat Sir Alan Beith MP announced he was to step down after 40 years. He was the longest-serving Liberal since David Lloyd George.

  18. Middlesbrough South and Cleveland Eastpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 8 May 2015

    Tom Blenkinsop for Labour upped his majority in Middlesbrough South and Cleveland East by 551 to 2,268, 42% of the votes.

    Will Goodhand came second for the Conservatives with 37.1%, while UKIP's Steve Turner finished third after seeing his share rise from 4.1% to 15.2%.

    Another dismal result for the Liberal Democrats saw Ben Gibson drop from 15.9% to 3.4%.

    The Green party's Martin Brampton secured 2.3%.
