    Belfast-born Ronnie Carroll, who represented Britain at the Eurovision song contest twice in the 1960s, collected 113 votes in Hampstead and Kilburn in the General Election - despite having died before any votes were cast.

    Mr Carroll died at the age of 80 on 13 April but his name was kept on the ballot paper. He collected 36 more votes than Robin Ellison of the U(niversal) Party.
