Speaking on BBC 5 Live's Pienaar's Politics, he said: "There are 1,000 officers on the case. It is still very raw but we're content that the imminent threat has been contained."

Asked if the UK will continue to work closely with Europol once it leaves the EU, Mr Wallace said: "Absolutely. We want to continue in the same way we do now with our European partners and friends.

"Whether the European Commission want us to do that - that's a question you'll have to ask them."

Mr Wallace also defended Theresa May's U-turn on social care policy, saying she dealt with it in a "solid, consistent and honest way."

He added: "When people stop, pause and look into the policy - what you find is that they understand what is being said."

A local Imam used the prevent strategy to get in touch to say he is dangerous and apparently nothing happened. Was he on a surveillance list?"

Home Secretary Amber Rudd: “I don’t know those details that you’ve just said out to me, the intelligence services are still collecting information about him and about the people around him. But I wouldn’t rush to conclusions, as you seem to be, that they’ve somehow missed something.”

Which we think is a yes.

She says it won't require extra funding "because the government has already put the money aside".
