    Nicola Sturgeon

Welcome back to our live election coverage - on the day after two party leaders - Tim Farron and Nicola Sturgeon - faced a Question Time audience.

BBC Scotland's James Shaw takes a look back at the SNP leader's performance, telling Today it was fair to say she got a pretty tough time.

The first minister was challenged on her record on education as head of Scotland's devolved government, with a member of the audience pointing out that performance in reading, maths and science had fallen to its lowest level since 2000.

She said she was only one year into the current Scottish Parliament and she should be judged at the end of her full term.

There was also "quite a lot of pretty fiery debate" on a second independence referendum.

James says "the bottom line" is the SNP are very likely to win more MPs than any other party in Scotland. However, in 2015, the party won 56 out of Scotland's 59 Commons seats and it is "highly unlikely they will be able to match that achievement".

The Conservatives might see a reduced number of SNP seats as "a moral victory for them" and argue that there is "less of a case for a second independence referendum".

Jeremy Corbyn said:, external "I agree that along with our broader vision for equality, your proposal to have a race equality strategy right across government is absolutely what you will see with the next Labour government. This journey is never about me, but always about us."

Tim Farron said:, external "We are slowly getting there, with three times as many BME candidates standing in winnable seats this election following measures implemented in 2016 which means we are the only political party using every available measure under the Equality Act to improve diversity."
