Theresa May has said she is "feeling great" about the election campaign and denied she had any regrets.

Speaking to reporters on a plane from Southampton to Norfolk, Mrs May said: "I never predict election results... I never set targets for elections, I just get out there and campaign."

She said she had enjoyed the last few weeks - though "the two terrible terror attacks have been something that nobody wants to see taking place at any time".

Asked about Labour shadow home secretary Diane Abbott, who has been replaced temporarily by colleague Lyn Brown due to ill health, Mrs May said:

    Quote Message

How Jeremy Corbyn manages his shadow cabinet is for him and I wish Diane a speedy recovery."

  2. Wood critical of Theresa May's 'unprecedented' election campaignpublished at 13:23 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    Leanne WoodImage source, Reuters

The leader of Plaid Cymru has labelled Theresa May's election campaign a "disaster" and said it has put the Conservatives in a "precarious position".

Leanne Wood made the comments during a speech to party activists and supporters at the Ystradfechan Recreational Grounds in Treorchy, South Wales on Wednesday - where she urged people to vote for her party to defend Wales.

Ms Wood said: "Theresa May has carried out what may be the most disastrous Conservative campaign in living memory, and while she still may win the election in England it is clear that there has been a hostile reaction to her policies."

  18. Ed Vaizey: I wish we had talked about the economypublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    The Daily Politics

    Ed Vaizey

Former Conservative culture minister Ed Vaizey says he wishes his party had talked more about its economic record during the election campaign.

Asked by BBC2's Daily Politics why there had been very little said about the economy, the Wantage MP said: "That's a fair point - I wish we had talked about our economic record.

"We've got a fantastic economic record. To a certain extent the election takes on a life of its own. We started on Brexit and other issues have taken over."

  19. Voters have a 'clear choice' - Maypublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    Theresa May

The Theresa May campaign has moved on to Norfolk.

Like Jeremy Corbyn, she says that voters face a "clear choice" in this election, but of course she urges them to back the Conservatives for a "fairer, stronger, more prosperous Britain".

Her vision is of "an outward looking country" that "believes in itself".

  20. Sturgeon: Voting SNP could be key to stopping a Tory majoritypublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    Nicola Sturgeon

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says voting Labour "risks letting Tory MPs in by the back door" - and only support for the SNP in Scotland can limit, or even deny, a Conservative majority.

Speaking in Edinburgh on the final day of campaigning, she said:

    Quote Message

Given the narrowing of the polls in the rest of the UK, there is now every chance that a vote for the SNP can deny the Tories the crushing victory that they so arrogantly predicted at the start of the campaign. It is even possible that votes in Scotland could be key to stopping the Tories gaining a majority at all – but that will only happen if people vote SNP to keep the Tories out."
