    Nigel Farage

Nigel Farage says he will have to come back into active politics if Jeremy Corbyn leads the next government.

The former UKIP leader says Brexit could be in "some trouble" if the Labour leader takes charge.

Asked if he would return to active politics if that happens, Mr Farage said: "I would have absolutely no choice but to do exactly that."

He says Theresa May's credibility as leader of the Conservatives is "fatally damaged".

While Mr Corbyn has shown he is "comfortable in his own skin", Mrs May came across as "insincere and robotic", he says.

He adds that it is "remarkable" that Mr Corbyn had managed to get Remainers voting for him in London, and UKIP voting for him around the rest of the country.

The Conservatives made a "huge error" by choosing Mrs May - who backed Remain in the EU referndum - to lead the party during "a Brexit election".

James Wharton, a minister for international development, has lost his seat in Stockton South.

With a 6% swing to Labour, this was exactly in line with the expectations of the exit poll.

Given a pattern of Labour gains is beginning to occur it is clear that the Conservative majority is under threat and might only be retained at all as a result of gains by the party in Scotland, Prof Curtice says.
