The pattern of Labour doing better in strongly Remain areas is now very clear.

On average there is an 8% swing to Labour in seats where Remain won more than 55% of the vote in 2016.

In contrast there is a 1% swing to the Conservatives in seats where Leave won 60%.

The Conservatives have benefited from the collapse in the UKIP vote in these Leave voting areas.

But the problem for the Tories is that other movements to and from the parties have overwashed the UKIP swing to the Tories.

The Labour leader has arrived at the Islington count.

Education Secretary Justine Greening, speaking after she was re-elected to Putney with a reduced majority, says she believes Labour's offer to abolish university tuition fees may have helped Jeremy Corbyn.

Newly re-elected SNP MP Mhairi Black tells BBC Radio 4 that she is very confident that hers will end the night as the largest party in Scotland, and that it was always going to be "nearly impossible" that the SNP would hold all their seats.

She added that she "would love it" if Jeremy Corbyn was in a position to form some form of government and that the SNP would be prepared to work with a Corbyn government on an issue by issue basis.
