    Essex Police is treating the incident as a murder investigation.

    The force said a 12-year-old boy died after being taken to hospital.

    Five others were injured in the incident: two 15-year-old boys, one 13-year-old boy, one 16-year-old girl and a 53-year-old woman.

    Police believe the teenagers were all pupils at Debden High School.

    Insp Rob Brettell said Essex Police was "trying to locate" a silver Ford KA in connection with the investigation.

    He said the car was "likely to have damage" to its front.

    He has appealed for anyone who may have seen it to contact officers on 999.

    I'm at the scene in Loughton, where I can see at least seven police cars on Willingdale Road.

    Essex and Herts Air Ambulance said it had treated "a number of patients".
