Ian Blackford says: "This has been a stunning night for the Scottish National Party."

The returning MP for Ross, Skye and Lochaber says this is about reaffirming the mandate the SNP Scottish government won in 2016.

"Let me tell Boris Johnson this morning, the Scottish National Party have won this election for Scotland," he says.

He says Boris Johnson had nothing to offer the people of Scotland.

Mr Blackford says his party is not prepared to see Scotland taken out of the EU against its will and it will have its referendum.

"We will save Scotland, we will have that referendum, Scotland will become an independent member of the European Union," he says.
