03:56 GMT 13 December 2019Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson has lost her Dunbartonshire East seat to the SNP and she congratulated the victorious Amy Callaghan.
Ms Swinson said it was likely Boris Johnson was going to win a majority and it was clearly a good night for the SNP.
"Some will be celebrating the wave of nationalism that is sweeping on both sides of the border," she said.
She said these were very significant results for the country and added she would make further remarks later today.
The Lib Dem leader said: "For millions of people in our country these results will bring dread and dismay to people and people are looking for hope."
She insisted: "We will stand up for hope."
