    Karen Bradley has been re-elected as the Conservative MP for the Staffordshire Moorlands, increasing her majority from 10,830 in 2017 to 16,428.

    The seat has been held by the Conservatives since Ms Bradley was first elected in 2010.

    In 2017 Labour just about held onto its seat in Newcastle-under-Lyme but it was close: just 30 votes.

    The Staffordshire seat has been represented by Labour since it was created a century ago, but the exit poll suggests that grip could be slipping.

    Ten thousand potential voters are students as the constituency is home to Keele University, so where the majority is so narrow, the voice of young people really matters.

    We spoke to some students there as the election campaign got underway- they told us that Brexit wasn't the main issue on their minds.

    "Food banks, the NHS, a lot of homeless sleepers, and a lot of the parties are forgetting all about this and focussing purely on Brexit," Dylan Patel said, adding that Brexit was "taking all the limelight".

    The seat has been held by Labour since 1974 and represented by Ms Vaz since 2010, whose majority has dropped from 8,892 in 2017 to 3,456.

    The Labour candidate for Redditch has said Jeremy Corbyn should stay on as leader of the Labour Party despite mounting pressure for him to resign.

    “Jeremy Corbyn should stay on as Labour leader, even if he loses - he’s in it for the long haul and regardless of the result, there is a way back for Labour," Rebecca Jenkins said.

    "At the next election we’ll be back fighting, getting our message across," she said. "There’s no way he should go.”

    His majority has gone down from 8,514 votes in 2017's election to 1,235.

    The Conservatives have secured a majority in West Bromwich East, the former seat of Labour's deputy leader Tom Watson.

    It is the first time since the constituency was created in 1974 that it hasn't been held by Labour.

    Nicola Richards secured a majority of 1,593 votes.

    Gareth Snell is seeking re-election for Stoke-on-Trent Central but he fears he has not got in.

    "Labour had a choice... we could either stop the Tories or stop Brexit.

    "[They] sacrificed us for whatever political ambitions they want to do next."
