    Hillary Clinton will make an appearance with pop star Katy Perry later this evening in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    It follows an appearance with power couple Beyonce and Jay Z on Friday night.

    The Clinton campaign has been drawing on the star power of many of its celebrity backers as it tries to energise young and minority voters.

    Vice-presidential candidate Tim Kaine will join Jon Bon Jovi at a gig in St. Petersburg, Florida.

    He's a keen bluegrass musician , externalwho plays in a band called the Jugbusters. Mr Kaine, that is.

    Donald Trump’s wife Melania allegedly earned more than $20,000 from modelling jobs before she had the legal right to work in the US.

    The Associated Press reports it has obtained “detailed accounting ledgers, contracts and related documents” showing Mrs Trump took 10 modelling jobs in the weeks before she obtained a work visa in 1996.

    In August, Mrs Trump labelled previous allegations of a similar nature as “simply untrue”. 

    An immigration lawyer who previously reviewed Mrs Trump's documents said the documents acquired by AP "do not reflect our records".

    Mr Trump has taken a tough line on illegal immigrants.

    Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will both start their final weekend of campaigning in Florida, a key battleground and the largest of the swing states. 

    The Democratic candidate will urge voters to cast their ballots early in Pembroke Pines, South Florida. The Republican will start in Tampa, a business centre on the Gulf Coast.

    The state is a must-win for Donald Trump, who needs its 29 electoral college votes if he wants to find a path to victory.

    Univision has unearthed a 1993 ad, external for a Slovenian clothing company starring Melania Trump as the first female US president.

    The ad stars Trump's wife, then known as Melania Knavs, applying make-up inside a presidential limousine (actually an 80s Chevrolet Caprice Classic), getting out of a helicopter and signing immigration documents.

    The Virginia Department of Elections has just released a statement seeking to assure worried voters that it is indeed safe to vote.

    "Virginia voters should be confident that they will be able to safely cast a ballot on Tuesday and that their votes will be accurately counted,” said elections commissioner Edgardo Cortes.

    "Our law enforcement partners report there are no known threats to Election Day in Virginia by foreign terror organisations.

    "However, we remain extremely vigilant for any potential threats to the upcoming election and are working with our law enforcement partners to ensure an appropriate response."

    That’s how one resident expressed his fears about the proposed settling of refugees in the US state of Montana.

    Around 100 refugees could be moving to the American West thanks to a local group in Missoula who were inspired to help after seeing the photo of a drowned Syrian boy. But people in the neighbouring rural county are not happy. 

    A local politician told the BBC they want a guarantee refugees will not be a threat - and he warned of a culture clash between Muslim refugees from Syria and the predominantly white local population.

  12. What did Giuliani know about FBI inquiry?published at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2016

    The former New York Mayor has corrected himself after initially saying he had been aware the FBI would reopen their investigation into Clinton's private email server.

    "Did I hear about it? You're darn right I heard about it," he told Fox News.

    At least two top congressional Democrats are now calling on the FBI to investigate how the information leaked to Giuliani.

    "These unauthorised and inaccurate leaks from within the FBI, particularly so close to a presidential election, are unprecedented,” Representatives Elijah Cummings and John Conyers wrote.

    “For this reason, we are calling on your office to conduct a thorough investigation to identify the sources of these and other leaks from the FBI and to recommend appropriate action.” 

    Giuliani later said he did not have advance notice of the FB announcement, but had been aware of internal turmoil between the Department of Justice and the FBI.

    Clinton's campaign chairman is calling for Trump to give the boot to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who is serving as a senior Trump campaign adviser.

    Two of Christie's senior aides were found guilty earlier on Friday for fraud and conspiracy for their role in a political revenge plot to close lanes on the nation's busiest bridge.

    "He should drain his own swamp," John Podesta told reporters on board the Clinton campaign plane, mocking Trump's metaphorical pledge to "#draintheswamp", and clean up DC corruption.

    The hashtag also refers to the swampy land that Washington DC was built upon.

    Earlier, the FBI said it was investigating intelligence that suggested al-Qaeda may try to launch attacks on Monday. Virginia, Texas and New York, which hosts a marathon on Sunday, were three states mentioned.

    New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said: "We are already on a state of high alert for election day, so we have more state police, more national guard, more soldiers on duty than ever before. 

    "We’re co-ordinating with the NYPD, so, there’s bad news and good news. Bad news is that New York is often a threat, the good news is that we’ve been living with this now for a decade, and we got prepared for it, and drilled for it, we take every threat seriously, so we’ll be prepared and we’ll be ready."

    Speaking in Fayetteville, President Obama was heckled by an "elderly" protester.

    The crowd began chanting "USA" and "Hillary" to drown out the protester seated in the balcony.

    "Hold up!" Obama shouted over and over again. He told the crowd the protester deserved their respect because he was only supporting his candidate.

    "Hey listen up. I told you to focus and you're not focused right now!" the president chided the crowd.

    Telling the crowd to sit down and be quiet, he said the Trump fan was "not doing nothing" and was not something to worry about.
