...but we'll be back tomorrow, and we'll have a wealth of music legends to get our ears around.

Sir Elton John will be headlining the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night and has promised to create a "brand new show" for Glastonbury.

His set will wrap up his touring commitments in the UK, and Sir Elton has told Radio 1's Clara Amfo it "couldn't be a more perfect ending".

Elsewhere, in the coveted Sunday afternoon Legend slot Yusuf, also known as Cat Stevens, will take to the stage.

Glasto festival-goers will also be treated to Lil Nas X, Blondie, Queens of the Stone Age, Rudimental, Phoenix, Alt-J, and many, many more.

Today's coverage was brought to you by myself, Christy Cooney, Imogen James and Jasmine Taylor-Coleman in London, as well as our reporters in Glastonbury.

    Goodnight and see you tomorrow!

The fans around me didn’t seem at all disappointed at Lana Del Rey for being late.

They kept chanting her name and asking for "one more song".

Lana Del Rey was about 30 minutes late to her headline slot earlier, which she's now paying the price for.

She was finishing White Mustang when the lights went out. She could be heard saying "skip Venice" in reference to one of her songs, clearly wanting to carry on.

The audience booed whilst she shouts at fans - her mic isn't on anymore.

The crowd sang Video Games together acapella. Not the ending she, or her fans, hoped for.

    But it's certainly loud.

Now she's speaking to fans as she has wondered down into the crowd.

    That'll lift their spirits.

Whew, it's been a long one and the music isn't over for the night.

You can still watch Christine and the Queens - currently barechested - at the Woodsies Stage on iPlayer and at the top of this page.

Some fans were frustrated with Lana Del Rey who was 30 minutes late, but that disappeared when she came onto the Other stage. However, she had the plug pulled at midnight, and was told she could not continue - leaving the crowd to sing Video Games without her.

Some stages are open until after 04:00, but we'll be wrapping up before long.

Glastonbury's Saturday line-up has not disappointed, and came prepared as ever with a bit of everything:

    • Rick Astley opened the main stage earlier, and appeared again later with band Blossoms to play hits from The Smiths. He told the BBC it was "the biggest audience I've sung in front of"
    • Lewis Capaldi made his performing return after taking some time off to rest. However, he lost his voice during the set, telling fans he would keep going but "I just need your help"
    • The flute appeared with Lizzo, who brought multiple bangers and outfit changes. As expected, she promoted a bit of self-love to her fans, who danced along with her
    • British rapper Central Cee lit up the Other Stage, drawing a huge and jumping crowd. He even surprised fans by bringing out Dave as a special guest to sing their track Sprinter
    • Late to the stage was multi-genre singer Rina Sawayama, who performed everything from house to pop to rock. She spoke up against racism and micro-aggressions, getting huge support from the audience
    • Hip-hop fans were in luck with Loyle Carner's emotionally charged set. He had Olivia Dean, Tom Misch and Sampha as guests, and showed his support for the teachers' strike
    • Guns N' Roses, today's main headliner, were actually on time to the Pyramid stage. The high-energy set captured songs old and new

Foo Fighters frontman joined Guns N' Roses on stage for a rendition of Paradise City.

"Because there's never such a thing as too many guitars," said Axl Rose before their closing number.

It's one of several surprise and guest appearances Grohl has made at the festival so far.

And with that, the band take a bow and the Pyramid stage is calling it a night.

    People queue outside a stage

As news has spread across the festival that Fred Again is doing a secret set at midnight at the Temple in Block 9, crowds are massing in this corner of the site.

Stewards have been shouting that the venue is at capacity but that hasn’t put people off and now they are funnelling people into a long queue outside.

Anyone lucky enough to make it into the after hours venue (which is currently spouting bursts of flame artistically from its roof) is in for a treat.

  8. Axl Rose introduces bandpublished at 23:48 British Summer Time 24 June 2023

A short while ago frontman Axl Rose went around introducing the other members of Guns N' Roses.

The line-up includes longstanding members Slash on guitar, Duff McKagan on bass, and Dizzy Reed on keyboard.

Also playing are Richard Fortus on guitar, Frank Ferrer on drums, and Melissa Reese on keyboard and synthesizer.

But hang on, there's another addition joining...

Axl Rose tells the crowd they're “too kind” and that it's been a "lovely evening”.

The band then kick into Hard Skool, the title track of an EP released in 2021. The release also included Absurd, which was played earlier in the set, and was the first to feature any members of the band's original line-up besides Rose for over 25 years.

"Thank you so much. I'm so happy to be here," Lana Del Rey tells the crowds.

She's singing Ride now from her second studio album Born to Die.

Her stage visuals are extravagant, with vintage-inspired video clips and dancers in elegant dresses. There's even a couple of flower-covered swings on stage.

It's been a mixed bag so far, with songs from older albums and newer, like Cherry and The Grants.

    Jack Burgess
    BBC News Live reporter

Here's another Guns N' Roses classic that many have been waiting for.

This time it's their famous hit November Rain, from their 1991 album Use Your Illusion I.

The mellow chords ring out and it acts as a quieter interlude between the band's heavier songs.

Phew - it's a good chance for the crowd to stop and take a breather before rocking out again.

Sweet Child O’ Mine single-handedly earns Guns N’ Roses their headline slot.

A song that is precision-built to be played in a field at 11pm while people sit on each other’s shoulders and sing along.

They’re following it up with November Rain. After two hours, we’ve reached the back-to-back hits portion of the set.

Paradise City for the encore, anyone?

  14. Loyle Carner urges fans to forget toxic masculinitypublished at 23:17 British Summer Time 24 June 2023

    Paul Glynn
    Entertainment & arts reporter

South London rapper Loyle Carner is providing the hip-hop alternative to Guns N' Roses, headlining the West Holts Stage to a decent-sized crowd.

Carner's set is built around his third album, Hugo, which looks at his relationship with his biological father, his identity as a mixed-race young man growing up in South London, and the scourge of knife crime that's afflicted the capital.

On stage, with the help of former youth MP Athian Akec, he called out the government over their handling of knife crime, before later urging fans to "forget all that toxic masculinity [rubbish] that ruined my childhood".

He's been accompanied, musically, by Sampha, Tom Misch and Olivia Dean, and also revealed that his young son is watching on in the crowd, as well as his father, who he recently reconnected with, at home on TV.

It's shaping up to be a memorable night for all of the family.

Guns N' Roses earlier played Civil War, an anti-war anthem from their 1991 album Use Your Illusion II.

"Look at your young men fighting, Look at your women crying, Look at your young men dying, The way they've always done before," its lyrics go.

During the song, Axl Rose wore a T-shirt bearing the Ukrainian flag, and the yellow and blue flag could also be seen waving in graphics on the screen at the back of the stage.

...Lana Del Rey is finally on stage.

'God bless you Glastonbury' appears in writing behind her, as she opens with A&W - a song from her latest album.

The crowds are going crazy and they're not put off too much by her late starting time, clearly.

  17. Sweet Child O' Mine blares into the Glasto nightpublished at 23:09 British Summer Time 24 June 2023

    Jack Burgess
    BBC News Live reporter

Here's the song that many have been waiting for, and arguably Guns N' Roses' most famous hit - Sweet Child O' Mine.

The crowd are in full voice signing along to the song, which is from their acclaimed 1987 album Appetite for Destruction.

And here we go - Slash's famous solo rings out from the Pyramid Stage into the Glastonbury night.

    Bliss.

Guns N' Roses' set has been heavy on covers so far.

Early in the night they played Slither, the best-known song by Velvet Revolver - a now-defunct band involving Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum.

They also played TV Eye, a Stooges cover, with McKagan standing in on vocals, and Down On The Farm, a song by British punk band U.K. Subs.

But don't worry, if you were hoping for more classics from the band's back catalogue - their recent tours have seen them play sets of up to three hours.

Is Lana Del Rey the most influential artist of her generation?

When she first arrived with dreamy, hip-hop infused songs like Born To Die and Video Games, people called her a fake.

They called her a Brooklyn hipster with artificially inflated lips, and carped that her father was a millionaire who(allegedly) bankrolled her career.

    How stupid they look now.

As Billie Eilish says, “Lana raised us”. Her atmospheric, low-slung, orchestral pop has inspired a generation. Not just Billie Eilish but Olivia Rodrigo, and even Taylor Swift – whose career predates Del Rey’s, but who invited her to duet on her recent Midnights album.

Del Rey is about to take to the Other Stage - she’s not one to miss!
