    The strikes were carried out by RAF Tornado jets, the Ministry of Defence says.

    Two Tornados left RAF Akrotiri base in Cyprus with three 500lb Paveway bombs each and returned just over three hours later without those weapons, the BBC's Jonathan Beale reports.

    In all, four Tornados left the base overnight.
