    There are currently 30-minute delays due to high winds on DFDS ferry services from Dover to Calais and Dunkirk.

    P&O services to Calais are also reporting 30 minute delays.

    The Wightlink car ferry between Fishbourne and Portsmouth is only running hourly because of the bad weather while the Yarmouth to Lymington crossing is suspended.

    The Ryde to Portsmouth catamaran is also suspended because of high winds.

    There are also disruptions to flights at Heathrow. According to the airport's Twitter feed,, external some arrivals have been diverted after being unable to land and other services are delayed. Travellers are being advised to check with their airlines.

    The Environment Agency currently has 20 flood warnings in place - meaning flooding is expected. The warnings are mainly concentrated in the south west of England.

    There are also 107 flooding alerts, meaning be prepared.

    London Overground services are also being affected by fallen trees. There's currently no service between Stoke Newington and Seven Sisters due to a tree hitting a train at Stoke Newington.

    There is also no service from Watford Junction to Euston while a tree is removed from the track at Watford High Street.

    The Met Office has issued, external an amber weather warning for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight as well as Sussex, Surrey and Kent. 

    Very strong winds have been developing across southern England since the early hours of Monday, and gusts of 60 to 70 mph are likely at times, particularly along the south coast. 

    A yellow, less severe warning for wind and rain is in place across a much wider area of southern England and into the Midlands.

    Away from the roads, it might not be any easier for you if you're making a journey by rail this morning, as flooding and fallen trees are causing problems for trains in the south of England.

    Heavy rain in the Ash area of Surrey means trains are currently unable to run between Guildford and Aldershot. This is expected to continue until approximately 10:00 GMT, National Rail Enquiries say.

    Meanwhile Southern Trains say trees have fallen on the line in multiple locations. The following routes are disrupted:

    - Three Bridges to Horsham

    - South Croydon to Oxted

    - Purley to Caterham

    - Chichester to Havant

    This means some services will be cancelled or delayed.

    Today, of course, is a big day for travel, with many people on the move at the end of the Easter weekend. The Met Office is urging people in areas affected by Storm Katie to delay their journeys until this afternoon where possible.

    For those who are driving this morning, the Dartford River Crossing and M48 Severn Bridge are closed due to the high winds, Highways England say.

    The southbound tunnel (from M25 clockwise) is closed at the Kent crossing. 

    But the M4 Second Severn Crossing is open to all traffic.

    More than 20 flights heading to Gatwick have been diverted to other airports. All had all been due to land at the West Sussex airport after midnight.

    Other flights have been delayed. As of 05:00 BST, Gatwick said 16 flights had been cancelled and 24 diverted to other destinations because of the stormy weather.
