    Police in the Republic of Ireland have clarified the age of the first victim of Ophelia as a woman in her 50s.

    She died when a tree fell on her car in Co Waterford, south east Ireland.

    A woman in her 70s was also injured in the crash.

    Earlier, police said the woman who died was in her 20s.

    A man in his 30s has died in a chainsaw accident while trying to remove a tree felled by Ophelia.

    The incident happened in Cahir, Co Tipperary, gardai confirmed.

    He is the second person to have been killed in the storm.

    More than 4,000 properties are without power in west Wales as high winds from Ophelia hit coastal areas.

    Western Power Distribution says homes in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Powys are affected.

    Around 130 schools are closed across the country as a "precautionary measure" and all 70 schools in Pembrokeshire are shut.

    Isle of Anglesey County Council has advised all 48 schools on the island to close after lunch. Other schools in north Wales also closed early.

    There has also been some travel disruption, including the cancellation of some flights into and out of Cardiff airport.

    The Gardai, the Irish Republic's police force, has confirmed that a woman in her mid-20s was killed when a tree fell on her car in Waterford, south-east Ireland, as a result of heavy winds caused by Ophelia.

    Earlier, there had been reports that the victim was in her 70s.

    A female passenger in her 50s was also injured in the accident, the police force said.

    Those doing water sports or swimming in open water in the midst of Ophelia are "totally irresponsible", says the Office of Emergency Planning in Ireland.

    Large parts of England and Wales have had a strikingly red sun, which has been caused by Ophelia.

    The ex-hurricane brought with it Saharan dust and debris from wildfires in Portgual and Spain.

    Met Office forecaster Grahame Madge said: "It's most likely the appearance of sunset at midday is caused by the particles scattering the light and giving the appearance of a red sun.

    "It's certainly spectacular at the moment and quite a talking point, we've had a lot of calls about it."

    About 80 schools have been closed in Wales as the country prepares for heavy winds as a result of Ophelia.

    The Isle of Anglesey council said 48 schools are closed in the area, and other schools are closed in north Wales, and west Wales.

    All schools in Pembrokeshire were closed at 13:00 BST "due to the severe winds".

    Flights between Cardiff and Valley in Anglesey have also been cancelled.

    So far, 144 homes in Cilgerran, Pembrokeshire, are without power.

    Gabrielle Davidson said: "It's extremely windy.

    "A little bit scary because I can hear it rattling against my window and there's leaves all over my window and waves where there shouldn't normally be waves."
