  15. Thousands of women lead anti-Trump marchpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 13 July 2018

    protest in Trafalgar Square

Thousands of protesters, mainly women, have flooded the streets of central London to protest against Donald Trump and determined to make as much noise as possible.

The crowd is full of whistles, drums and the all important pots and pans that seem to have become a symbol of this movement.

    protesters

Whilst the mood is jovial, their motivation is serious. Most of those I've talked to are here because of Trump's immigration policies, especially after the recent pictures from the Mexican border.

There are also countless signs regarding his attitude to women, which I'm sure you will understand, I'm unable to repeat.

Clearly, the anger hasn't stopped the visit and a state one is on the horizon. But the palpable outrage is unlikely to subside before then and when he returns to central London, I think these protesters will too.

Tom Newton Dunn, the paper's political editor, said the comments were the last thing that Theresa May needed - but that they might unwittingly help her.

  18. 'Less High Noon, more lovey dovey'published at 13:29 British Summer Time 13 July 2018

BBC assistant political editor Norman Smith predicts that the upcoming press conference between Theresa May and Donald Trump would be "less High Noon and more lovey dovey" with both leaders going out of their way to stress their friendship.

But, he said, the fact they would have to put on such a performance underlined how damaging Mr Trump's intervention in The Sun, external had been.

The danger is that many will conclude that Mr Trump is both dismissive of Mrs May's approach to Brexit - and of her as prime minister.
