    More matches are being cancelled due to police forces having to commit officers to the Queen's funeral - and the events leading up to it.

    Chelsea’s Premier League encounter against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge and Manchester United’s home match with Leeds United have been postponed on Sunday, while Brighton's fixture against Crystal Palace on Saturday 17 September is also off.

    Arsenal's Europa League match at home to PSV on Thursday has been postponed.

    There was anger over the weekend when it was announced that all English, Welsh and Northern Irish football and senior Scottish football were being moved as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Champions League matches are also to abandon singing the league's anthem before play, for the time being.

    The Queen's state funeral is set to take place on Monday 19 September. You can read more about what's going to happen between now and then here.

    The singer Lulu has been speaking to Huw Edwards on the BBC news channel about the day's events.

    She described the ceremonies on Monday as "perfect", and said she like everyone else was "heartbroken".

    Lulu says she first met the Queen when she was 16. "The great thing about her... and it's the same with King Charles, all of the Royals really, is they... make you feel at ease," she said.

    She also spoke about the new King Charles.

    "He has been at the university of life for a long time. And he's been studying hard," she said. "I feel he has now graduated."

    She said when he gave his first speech as King he immediately transformed from prince to monarch. "It was like alchemy - he was the King when he was speaking", she said.

    A sombre silence marked much of the procession of the Queen's coffin up the Royal Mile.

    But moments breaking through the quiet included dogs barking and people calling "God bless the Queen" as the hearse passed.

    People travelling to Royal Parks to lay tributes have been asked to stop leaving Paddington Bears and plastic-wrapped bouquets of flowers.

    Marmalade sandwiches have also been left, in reference to the Platinum Jubilee sketch the Queen performed with Paddington Bear, which delighted millions of people around the world.

    Following an outpouring of tributes, the Royal Parks have requested, external that only compostable materials are left - asking that wrappings be removed from flowers, and that non-floral gifts such as teddy bears and balloons not be brought.

    Cards will be accepted and stored offsite, while flowers will eventually be composted and used across the Royal Parks.

    Group of volunteers at London's Green Park have also been seen helping gather up the wrappings from others' tributes for disposal.

    Now that the thanksgiving service is over, the Queen's coffin will lie in St Giles' Cathedral for 24 hours to allow members of the public to file past and pay their respects.

    George Higgins and Sheila Purvis were at the front of the queue in Edinburgh's Meadows before 07:00 BST this morning. The first wristbands allowing access to the cathedral were given out at around lunchtime.

    Official guidance has been issued warning people to be prepared for long queues. As well as airport-style security checks, those wishing to view the Queen's coffin have also been told there's a strict bag policy.

    Bags must be smaller than 40cm x 30cm x 20cm, a tweet , externalby the Scottish government says.

    A man was arrested during the procession of the Queen's coffin along the Royal Mile earlier this afternoon, police have confirmed.

    "A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with a breach of the peace on the Royal Mile at around 2:50pm," a police statement said.

    Holidaymakers Sue and Chris were among the thousands of people who took their place on the Royal Mile for the procession ahead of the thanksgiving service.

    The couple, from Rossendale in Lancashire, describe their pride at being able to witness the historic occasion.

    “That was beautiful, very humbling to witness," Chris says.

    "People were so peaceful, everyone paying their respects. I am so glad we are here.”

    Sue and her daughter Zoe travelled from Stirling to watch the procession up the Royal Mile.

    “It was lovely, it was so quiet,” says an emotional Sue. “I wasn’t sure if people were going to cheer when it passed by but it was really nice and respectful.

    “We are watching a family grieving, and it’s about respecting that. It’s part of history. When it is sombre like that, it is just so moving."

    Those attending the service at St Giles' Cathedral are singing Psalm 23, the Lord's My Shepherd - a hymn favoured by the Queen.

    It was sung at her wedding to Prince Philip in 1947.

    The psalms chosen are said to to have been ones the Queen was used to singing at Crathie Kirk, a small church in the Scottish village of Crathie. It's where the Royal Family go when they're in residence at nearby Balmoral Castle.

    The UK's freshly-installed Prime Minister, Liz Truss, is among those at St Giles' Cathedral for the service of thanksgiving for the Queen.

    Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is also there as well as council officials, members of the armed forces, war veterans, judiciary and consular officials.

    There are also representatives from various Scottish charities that the Queen was patron of, too - such as Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, the Royal National Mòd, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Scottish Football Association.

    Others on the guest list include people involved in the arts, sports, emergency services and faith groups.

    The Crown of Scotland has now been placed on the Queen's coffin at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh.

    Historically, the crown has been used in ceremonies to represent the sovereign's presence.

    It was placed on Queen Elizabeth II's coffin by Alexander Douglas-Hamilton, the 16th Duke of Hamilton and will remain there while thousands of Scots pay their respects.

    Large crowds are expected to visit the cathedral, where mourners will be allowed to file past the Queen's coffin from about 17:30 BST until 15:00 on Tuesday.

    After that, the crown will be returned to Edinburgh Castle - where it is usually on display.

    Made from gold, silver and precious gems, the crown is the centrepiece of the Honours of Scotland - which are the oldest crown jewels in Britain and among the oldest in Europe.

    Inside St Giles' Cathedral, the Queen's coffin has been carried in by members of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and placed on the catafalque - the wooden platform supporting the coffin.

    The coffin is made of English oak and lined with lead - a traditional design choice for members of the Royal Family, according to reports.

    Prince Philip, the Queen's husband, was laid to rest in a similar coffin last year.

    The city of Edinburgh was only a month ago filled with festival-goers attending the Fringe.

    A place of such joy and exuberance and noise in normal times, it is as if Edinburgh's streets are filled once again with festival-goers, but for a very different purpose.

    There is a different demeanour and quite a different sound.

    Voices are lowered, some heads are bowed.

    And in the streets there is an atmosphere of abiding respect and gratitude, which is the spirit of this afternoon's proceedings.
