"I am the resurrection and the life" sings the choir - the first of five lines of scripture, known as the Sentences, which have been sung at every state funeral since the 18th Century.
For the final two of the Sentences, the choir of the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace will join in, ending with a line from Revelation 14:13: "From henceforth blessed are the dead which die in the Lord: even so saith the Spirit; for they rest from their labours. Amen."

The eyes of the world are now on the bearer party, which has been given the responsibility of delicately lifting the Queen’s coffin from the State Gun Carriage and carrying it inside for the service.
Once inside the grand building, the coffin will be taken through the nave and the quire and placed on a platform before the high altar.
We can see The King and the Prince of Wales salute as the bearer party lifts the coffin of their mother and grandmother.

Following behind them are other senior male royals: the Queen’s cousin the Duke of Gloucester, her nephew the Earl of Snowdon and Anne’s husband Sir Tim Laurence.

Flanking the carriage are the bearer party, pall bearers made up of officers who served the Queen, and bodyguards from the Gentlemen at Arms, Yeoman of the Guard and the Royal Company of Archers.
To the rear of the carriage, mourners include members of the King’s household, as well as Charles III himself and other senior royals.

10:42 BST 19 September 2022The Queen's coffin is being moved on to the State Gun Carriage, which waits outside the building’s north door. It’ll be a short route to the abbey, crossing New Palace Yard and Parliament Square, then negotiating Broad Sanctuary and the Sanctuary.
The journey should take around eight minutes, with 142 Royal Navy sailors and six officers drawing the carriage.
There’ll be a guard of honour in the square and a Royal Marine band. Leading the procession are the Massed Pipes and Drums of the Scottish and Irish Regiments, the Brigade of Gurkhas, and the Royal Air Force - numbering some 200 musicians.
The procession will march at 75 paces to the minute, a speed reserved for funerals.

A little while before that, at 10:44, the Queen’s coffin is due to leave Westminster Hall, part of the Palace of Westminster.
It’s a short distance but there will be a procession.
The State Gun Carriage, pulled by members of the Royal Navy, will carry the Queen to the West Gate of Westminster Abbey.
On Wednesday, a procession that took the Elizabeth II from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall was conducted at a stately tempo of 75 steps a minute.
Today we expect to again see King Charles III, Princes William and Harry, and other senior royals walking behind her coffin.
