A big part of the row between Southern rail and the RMT has been a debate about rest day working.
Charles Horton said: "There is no ban on rest day working. Anyone who wants to work overtime can work overtime."
Dyan Crowther added: "We do rely on rest day working."

Charles Horton, from Southern, said the company was "fit to be running the franchise".
Charles Horton from Southern defended the lack of train drivers during evidence to the transport committee.
"We've put in place a significant programme of recruitment and have the UK's largest driver training programme," he said.
"But given it takes 14 months to train a driver - there's no magic wand."

Southern they're to cut 341 daily services, which will come in force next Monday - 11 July.

Charles Horton was just asked this question by Louise Ellman MP, the chair of the committee.
He said: "We are fit to be running this railway. We are in the middle of a very difficult moment in this franchise.
"It is a difficult franchise anyway, but the problems over the last few weeks have added to this."
The RMT union's Mick Cash and Paul Cox have just finished giving evidence.
Dyan Crowther and Charles Horton from Southern are now up.
The opposite sides didn't speak as they passed each other.
Huw Merriman, who is the MP for Bexhill and Battle, said he was "horrified" by the situation with the RMT and Southern rail.
Mick Cash was asked why many passengers are blaming the union as much as the train operator.
He said: "One of the things that happens when you take industrial action is you inconvenience passengers.
"Sometimes we have to get our message across.
"When you inconvenience passengers they get upset and you don't do it deliberately."
General Secretary Mick Cash said: “This is crisis management on Britain's biggest rail franchise, a franchise that is now in terminal meltdown.
"The continuing attempt to blame this gross mismanagement on the front line staff is a cynical and cowardly ploy by a company who have chosen to wage war on their passengers and workforce alike."

Huw Merriman earlier challenged Mick Cash from the RMT and said he hadn't responded to an email he'd sent him.

Will Quince MP addressed the RMT's safety concerns.
He said: "Any concerns you have about safety have to be evidence based. What evidence do you have?
"There are other routes where you haven't complained about the same practices."
Huw Merriman MP said: "It is absolute misery. We cannot get back to our families, we cannot get home on time.
"I have missed appointments here, my constituents can't get to school on time."
Mich Cash from the RMT said the chaos at Southern was down to poor management and the staff were not to blame.

"We are proud of our connection with the rail industry."
He was responding to questions from Huw Merriman the MP for Bexhill and Battle.
Huw Merriman, MP for Bexhill and Battle, described his "horror" at what's going on.
He said he was speaking as an MP of constituents who use Southern services and as a commuter himself.
He said: "It's unbearable. Why will your members not operate the train?"
Paul Cox from the RMT has told the committee staff went off sick due to stress over Southern's actions.
He said: "The additional pressures that the company put on these people led to them being pushed over the edge."
