    One lane's closed and there's heavy traffic on the A1 northbound in Catterick between Catterick South and Catterick North, because of an accident between A6136 Leeming Lane, Catterick  and the A6136 Gatherley Road, Brompton on Swale.

    A council which sparked fury with a controversial tree-felling operation has pledged to "regain the trust" of the people of Sheffield.

    Several protesters were arrested during the dawn work to cut down eight trees in Rustlings Road last year.

    The city council, which apologised, said it now planned to "work better with residents to get the job done".

    The felling was part of a wider scheme to improve streets and remove diseased, damaging or dangerous trees.

    A charity says it's helped more farmers in North Yorkshire than anywhere else in the country.

    The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution says it's seen a 25% increase year on year in the amount it's paid out to farmers in the county.

    • The A64 at its junction with the B1427 Queen Margaret's Road in Scarborough is currently reported to be very busy but moving
    • There's heavier than usual traffic on the M1 South Yorkshire Northbound between J32 for M18 South Yorkshire and J33 for A630 Catcliffe Treeton
    • And there's heavy traffic on the M621 westbound at J3, A653 (City Centre) with congestion to J7, A61 (Stourton)

    Party drug nitrous oxide is being sold illegally across Leeds via Facebook, a BBC investigation has found.

    The sale of the gas for human consumption has been illegal since May when the Psychoactive Substances Act, external came into force.

    However, the BBC was able to buy several canisters of the drug, known as laughing gas, after contacting a dealer advertising it for sale on Facebook.

    Two men have been arrested as a result of the investigation, police said.

    The headteacher of Dinnington High School in South Yorkshire has paid tribute to a teenager who was found dead on Monday morning

    The body of Leonne Weeks was found in Dinnington, Rotherham, at about 11:00 on Monday morning.

    Headteacher Rebecca Staples says Leonne was "a lovely, lovely girl": "Some would see her as quiet but those who knew the other side of her knew she had an effervescent side.

    "She was a truly loyal friend and truly loyal to her family who meant the world to her," she adds.
