The platform at Chorley is busy, as expected, as there are commuters travelling to it from stations where trains aren't stopping.
The train was a little later than usual with no reason other than industrial action given.
The train arrived with extra carriages and plenty of room. People are standing, though that's not unusual.
Some commuters say they have had to travel here as trains weren't stopping at their station.
Feels like a normal commuter service to me though a bit busier.
Commuters moving easily through Leeds station despite strike action by workers on Northern.

Southern, external says:
Services not running to and from London
Services not running between Rye and Ashford International
Services not running between Hastings and stations to and from the East
Services not running between Brighton and stations to and from the West
Southern is advising passengers to avoid travelling at peak times and to allow extra time for their journey.

Rail commuters are making alternative arrangements as the strike by workers at Northern affect their plans.
Commuters across Merseyside face disruption as members of the RMT union stage a one-day strike over the role of guards .
Merseyrail had promised trains every half an hour but says it is "being forced to run fewer services" than planned because many drivers have chosen not to cross picket lines.
They're walking out in opposition to the introduction of driver-operated trains.
There will be no trains running on the Ellesmere Port, Kirkby and Hunts Cross lines and travellers are advised to check online for other services.
Operators running Merseyrail, Northern and Southern trains claim the proposed changes will free up staff to help passengers.

Trains have left from Barrow towards Sellafield and Whitehaven this morning and towards Lancaster, but signs are warning of a very limited service.
"There are far fewer trains on the Furness Line towards Lancaster than there are heading north this morning.
"There's no sign of any bus replacement service here at this stage of the day and those notices that are here, are not really making it clear what's running and when."

We're being warned to expect widespread travel disruption because of a strike by staff working for the rail company Northern - it's part of a row over the role of guards on trains.
Northern says it is running just 40% of its trains.
I'm at Selby train station where a reduced service is running between Selby, York, Leeds and Hull.
I've been speaking to some of the commuters, including one woman trying to get to the first day of her new job.
Merseyrail is planning to provide half hourly services today as 24-hour strike action gets under way - but that depends on train drivers crossing RMT picket lines.
Picket lines are in place at stations across the region.
Bus operators have been asked to provide extra capacity.
