    A man has admitted stabbing a father to death on Valentine's Day.

    Domingos Ramalho, 35, from Oxford, was attacked with a kitchen knife on a busy street.

    Egidio Da Silva Alves, 28 of The Slade, Oxford, has admitted the murder in the Headington area of the city.

    Thames Valley Police said the daylight attack happened in front of "terrified" members of the public including children.

    The public toilets near the Sandbanks ferry in Poole are re-opening today.

    Residents complained that visitors had started relieving themselves in bus stops, alleyways and private gardens after the block was shut to save money.

    Poole Council says the Haven toilets will be open until the end of September. It'll close then if no-one else can be found to take over the running of the facility.

    An academy chain has said it plans to close a school on the Isle of Wight which has "halved in size and income".

    Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) said income at Sandown Bay Academy had dropped by £5m in five years because of a "rapid fall" in pupil numbers.

    It said a previously-announced merger with Ryde Academy would now involve the closure of the Sandown site.

    Ben Ainslie's Portsmouth-based Land Rover BAR sailing team continue their quest to become the first British crew to win the America's Cup when the qualifying stages begin tomorrow.

    They had been due to start today but strong winds have delayed them.

    Ainsie - the most successful sailor in Olympic history with four golds - was part of Team Oracle USA, which won the last competition in 2013.

    But no British crew has won the oldest sporting event, first held in 1851.

    "For everyone in this team it would be the biggest achievement if we win the America's Cup for Britain," the 40-year-old said.
