The 22-year-old man from Lancashire, who cannot be named for legal reasons, committed the offences in speeches at far-right gatherings in 2015 and 2016.

In one speech held in North Yorkshire, he called for Jews to be "eradicated" and said Nazi leader Adolf Hitler had been wrong to show "mercy to people who did not deserve mercy".

He denied two charges but was found guilty by a jury at Preston Crown Court and will be sentenced at a later date.

  4. Listen: Calls for housing boss to reinvest £110m bonuspublished at 08:02 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2018

The MP for York Central is calling on the chief executive of Persimmon, the York-based housing company, to reinvest his £110m bonus.

Jeff Fairburn is in line to collect a £110m bonus this financial year as the result of a pay deal put in place five years ago.

This morning the company announced its revenue for 2017 was up 9% on the previous year at £3.4BN.

York Central MP Rachael Maskell says if Jeff Fairburn has a "conscience" he will reinvest the money:

Some experts say the company's success may be a result of changes in government regulation.

"The plan was flawed in that there was no upper limit to it," said Ruth Bender, professor of corporate financial strategy at Cranfield School of Management.

"Although he has done a good job at the top of the company, it's happened because the government changed the regulations and they've had a huge dollop of luck from Help to Buy."

"There is obviously an element of good management in it, but they would have never made those good results without the regulation."

  5. Listen: Bid to revive Bradford's city centre nightlifepublished at 07:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2018

There are concerns not enough money is being invested to revive Bradford's city centre.

The city council is currently investing £75m to regenerate the area.

But some local business owners don't think this is enough and steps are being taken to set up a Business Improvement District in Bradford.

Ian Ward, the managing director of the Broadway Shopping Centre, says Bradford needs to offer more in terms of nightlife:

Sewage from seabirds, dogs, and even humans all have a negative impact on the North Yorkshire coastline.

The water quality in the Scarborough South Bay was officially rated as poor by the Environment Agency.

The warden will encourage people not to feed birds and stop them from allowing their dogs to foul on the beaches.

They've launched a campaign called Child Neglect Has No Home Here - A study by the NSPCC found that one in 10 children in the UK have suffered neglect - one in five severe malnutrition.

North Yorkshire Police says they want people to report any suspicions if they believe a child is being neglected.

A senior officer says neglect often has a devastating impact upon its victims - and he says we shouldn't turn a blind eye to it.

The MP for Barnsley Dan Jarvis has called a debate to urge the government to reconsider the One Yorkshire option rather than pressing ahead with a South Yorkshire only deal.

The idea of a Northern Powerhouse was put forward by the former chancellor George Osborne.

In return for an elected mayor local decision makers would get more power over transport, employment and skills - and a pot of cash.

But in Yorkshire we've struggled to decide which local authorities could work together.

The government is adamant a South Yorkshire deal must go ahead but Barnsley and Doncaster now say they want to work with the rest of Yorkshire instead.
