    Saturday's scheduled race meeting at Warwick has been abandoned, external due to water-logging.

    It’s the venue's most high-profile meeting of the year - Kingmaker Day.

    The course also lost its other big money spinner, the New Year’s Eve meeting.

    Uttoxeter has also fallen victim to the rain.

    They were among six Saturday race meetings, three in the Midlands.

    They also race on the flat on an all-weather track at Wolverhampton.

    A landslide in Reservoir Lane, Worcester is affecting part of Rainbow Hill.

    West Mercia Police said the road is closed between the junctions with Lansdowne Crescent and Elgar Court.

    Several roads have been closed by river or flash flooding in the region. Police are warning drivers not to take risks by driving into flood waters.

    And in Herefordshire, the A40 eastbound carriageway in Ganarew was blocked by a landslide, external. Diversions have been put in place and people are being advised to seek alternative routes.

  7. Flood warnings in place for Worcestershirepublished at 08:11 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

    There are currently 15 flood warnings and 26 flood alerts, external in place for Worcestershire.

    If you're in one of these areas, the government advises you to:

    - move vehicles to higher ground if it is safe to do so

    - move family and pets to safety

    - move important items upstairs or to a safe place in your property

    - turn off gas, electricity and water supplies if it is safe to do so

    - use flood barriers or air brick covers if you have them
