    Bedford Borough Council says it's concerned a current review looking at local health services is putting A&E, maternity and child services at risk.

    Price Coopers Waterhouse have been asked to report on a sustainable future for Bedford Hospital which protects key areas of healthcare. It's due to report at the end of month.

    The dulcet tones of Dame Barbara Windsor are soon to be a thing of the past in Albert Square as the soap star prepares for her final farewell to EastEnders tonight.

    The 78-year-old's character, Peggy Mitchell, will lose her fight against cancer.

    Dame Barbara, who joined the BBC One soap in 1994, recently returned for the former landlady's final episodes after saying Peggy was "something I need to shut the door on".

    The One Show will be live in Albert Square - aka Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire - to mark her exit and a feature, Peggy Mitchell: Last Orders, will debut on the BBC iPlayer.

    Bedford Borough Council says it remains "deeply saddened" by the death of a 53-year-old woman who was run over by an unescorted lorry at Bedford bus station last year.

    An inquest at Ampthill Coroner's Court into the death of Nicola Berridge, from Biggleswade, heard she had just got off a bus on Friday, 13 February when she was hit by the lorry.

    A council spokesman said: "The inquest today confirmed the incident as an unfortunate accident, and we will continue to work with all those involved to ensure the bus station is a safe place."

    Cambridgeshire Police say nothing new has been found at the Sharnbrook site police are currently searching off Mill Road.

    Police believe a human head found in a quarry in Cambridgeshire originally came from Sharnbrook.

    A force spokeswoman says they are not expecting any further updates this afternoon, but we'll keep you updated with any further developments. Police are remaining on site overnight.

    Promoter and DJ Jacob Hansen, 35, who has run the WetYourSelf night for 10 years, said he initially they were lost when he saw them walking down the stairs, the Standard writes.

    A coroner has ruled Nicola Berridge died at Bedford bus station last year as a result of being run over by an unescorted lorry.

    Lorry driver Mr Llaveshi recounted how, on the day in question, he had to move slowly away to make way for a bus when he felt the rear wheel go up and down.

    The collision investigator said it was possible Ms Berridge entered the view of the lorries rear view mirrors after the checks had been completed.

    A coroner has ruled that a 53-year-old woman died as a result of being run over by an unescorted lorry at Bedford bus station last year. 

    Nicola Berridge, from Biggleswade, had just got off a bus on Friday, 13 February at a time when the bus station was being refurbished.

    Cambridgeshire Police says there is no official line yet on whether it is being treated as a murder inquiry.

    The head was found in a quarry at Mepal, near Ely, and police are now searching a site in Mill Road, Sharnbrook.
