The NSPCC says there's been a large increase in the number of crimes involving indecent images of children.
Police forces across Beds, Herts and Bucks have recorded a rise in the number of offences.
The number of cases involving indecent images rose in the Thames Valley from 182 in 2013 to 525 last year.
In Bedfordshire it's trebled from 34 cases to 116, and in Hertfordshire from 101 to 246.
The NSPCC has criticised social media sites for enabling indecent images to be distributed.
It's also expressing concern that a significant number of children reported to police may include youngsters who've shared naked selfies.

A £20m fund and a new review board has been unveiled in a bid to improve Southern rail services and "get to grips" with problems on its network.
The government action comes after months of disruption, strikes and a reduced service on rail routes through Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London and southern counties.
RMT union members are due to stage a 48-hour strike on 7 and 8 September.
The union is fighting moves to turn conductors on Southern into "on-board supervisors".
The company began imposing the changes earlier in August.

The Buckinghamshire jeweller who helped fix Olympic rowing champion Helen Glover's gold medal said "it was a bit of a mission to restore".
Richard Bull, Bourne End Jewellers' head gold and silversmith, said the Rio gold medal "was damaged on two edges, one quite badly and the other not quite so badly".
"It was a bit of a mission to restore it really," he said.
"It was my pleasure and I was too glad to have helped. I am very pleased with the way it came out and I think Helen Glover is very pleased as well."
Ms Glover and Steve Backshall, who met in 2014, are due to get married later this month.

A jewellers in Buckinghamshire has played its part in the UK's Olympic story, after fixing the gold medal of one of our athletes.
Bourne End Jewellers got a call about the medal won by the Olympic rowing champion Helen Glover.
It's emerged that they got a call from the Buckinghamshire resident after her fiance Steve Backshall dropped the medal on a concrete floor.
Richard Bull, the firm's head gold and silversmith, sorted out the medal and said he helped Mr Backshall out of "a sticky situation".
"I could see that it had been dropped and I said to Helen's fiance, who brought it in, that it looked like it had been dropped on concrete," Mr Bull said. "He said that was pretty much what happened.
"He admitted to having dropped it himself."

Bedford Borough Council wants to introduce a new bus charge for pensioners and disabled people.
The standard £1 fare will apply for journeys between midnight and 09:30. There is currently no charge for those with bus passes.
Lib Dem councillor Michael Headley says it would save £100,000 a year, which could be used to protect other services including care for the elderly, but they will listen to the public's concerns as they open a consultation.
"We want to hear about situations where we might need to make exceptions," Mr Headley said. "For instance, if your only bus from the village in the morning leaves at 09:25 then that might be where we would want to make an exception."

Forget baking - the big question quite literally on the lips in last night's Great British Bake Off was whether Bedfordshire contestant Candice Brown would wear a different shade of lipstick for every round she gets to.
After last week's deep purple, host Mel Giedroyc said she was "loving the pink this week".
Candice said if she got through to bread week she would wear "red for bread".
So, now we know - who cares what she bakes?

Spoiler alert! If you're yet to watch this week's episode of the Great British Bake Off... stop reading.
Bedfordshire baker Candice Brown was one of the only contestants in last night's biscuit week who didn't crumble as she walked of with the Star Baker accolade.
After her Salted Caramel, Chocolate Iced Shiny Heart biscuits were deemed by judge Paul Hollywood to "look hideous but taste amazing", she came eighth in the Viennese whirl technical challenge.
But it was her depiction of the pub she lived in as a child in gingerbread as the showstopper which really took her to the top of the pile - even though it almost collapsed.
Versions of her mum and dad were placed behind the door and her brother at the pool table, all on a ginger cake to depict the sticky pub floor - a mixture which left judge Mary Berry saying she would "eat a bit of carpet".
I'll just leave that there.

Milton Keynes Dons signed winger Ryan Colclough on loan from Wigan and centre half Jack Hendry, also from the Lancashire club, but manager Karl Robinson told the club's YouTube channel, external he was frustrated at not completing several more deals.
"We've got a list as long as our arm that we've been chasing for two months now," he said.
"I can honestly say we've been treated by one or two people with a bit of disrespect. We've had three players signed in the last few days and for whatever reason it doesn't materialise, and that had nothing to do with finance and nothing to do with the players.
"The players wanted to come, just things a bit underhand being done."
