  1. Train derailment: Information from National Rail Enquiriespublished at 08:35 British Summer Time 16 September 2016

    A statement from National Rail Enquiries, external says: "A derailed train between Milton Keynes Central and Watford Junction means there is major disruption to services between Milton Keynes Central and London Euston. 

    "Two of the lines have reopened at reduced speed through the affected area, but journeys are expected to be delayed by up to 60 minutes. 

    "Disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day."  

  2. Train derailment: Latest from London Midlandpublished at 08:32 British Summer Time 16 September 2016

    London Midland trains, external has sent out the latest information after this morning's train derailment in the Watford area. 

    It says fewer trains are running on the lines between Milton Keynes Central and Watford Junction. 

    Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised. 

    Disruption is expected until 13:00. 

    Chiltern Railways, Cross Country, Great Western Railway, London Overground, Thameslink, Virgin Trains, East Midlands Trains and TFL Rail are accepting passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. 

    Arrangements have been made for London Midland rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.

  4. Train derailment: Commuters advised to delay journey into Londonpublished at 08:27 British Summer Time 16 September 2016

    Commuters traveling into London Euston station are being advised to either delay their journey or travel into another London station after a train derailment in a tunnel just outside of Watford at 07:00. 

    Francis Thomas, from London Midland, says as this is a "busy stretch" of track, if "something goes wrong it will take a long time for services to get back to normal".

    He said it had been confirmed by two sources that there were no injuries on the train. 

    Delays are expected until at least lunchtime.

    I've just spoken to British Transport Police which has confirmed officers were called to Hunton Bridge tunnel near Watford at about 07:00 to reports of a landslide. 

    British Transport Police are at the scene along with the East of England Ambulance Service and Herts Fire and Rescue. 

    Passengers are requested to contact Network Rail for train information.

    Emergency services are at the scene of a train derailment between Watford Junction and Kings Langley,, external after a reported landslide. 

    Network Rail says services between Milton Keynes and London Euston will be affected for the rest of the day. 

    All lines are blocked, but London Midland says it's had from two sources that no injuries have been reported.

  10. Train derailment: Latest informationpublished at 07:51 British Summer Time 16 September 2016

    A train has derailed near Watford Junction, operator London Midland, external has confirmed.

    It is the 06:19 service from Milton Keynes to Euston, but there are no details of injuries at this time.

    It is understood the accident was caused by flooding in the area.

    A spokesman said London Midland and Virgin services would be "severely disrupted" from the north west of England, Scotland, and the Midlands into Euston station in London.

    Tickets will be accepted on East Midlands trains between Northampton and Wellingborough and coaches have been requested to run between the two stations.

  15. Tribute to teenager shot dead in MKpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 15 September 2016

    Police have named a teenager shot dead in Milton Keynes.

    Suhaib Mohammed, 19, was killed at an end of terrace house in Osprey Close, Eaglestone, early on Tuesday morning.

    In a statement issued via Thames Valley Police, the teenager's family said "he touched the lives of everyone around him".

    "He was a kind hearted young person who was sensitive to the needs of others around him," it said.

    "He will always remain in our memories." 

    Mohammed Noor, 33, from Milton Keynes, who's charged with murder, was remanded in custody at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court earlier. He will next appear at Luton Crown Court on Monday.

    The Met Office has issued a warning for heavy rain for much of the region for Friday.

    It'll be a mostly cloudy day with thunderstorms and rain - the heavy downpours could lead to some very localised flooding.

    Moderate north westerly winds, with a maximum temperature of 20(C)  (68F).

  17. Luton Airport 'disruption over'published at 17:11 British Summer Time 15 September 2016

    The largest airline at Luton Airport, Easyjet, says it's confident the worst of the disruption due to expansion at the airport is over, following the busy summer period. 

    For the past three months there have been long traffic queues on the approach to the Bedfordshire site, with some passengers missing their flights.

    Work to improve access to the airport is continuing, with work on the carriageway expected to be completed by the end of the year.

    An anti-racism demonstration is being held in Bletchley this evening on the spot where a pregnant woman was attacked. 

    The 34-year-old lost her baby after she was kicked to the ground in August, in what police believe was a racist attack. A man arrested yesterday has been released on police bail.
