The blaze took hold in the garage in Oakwood Drive, Bletchley, at about 14:20 on Sunday.

It took four crews from Buckinghamshire Fire Service to tackle the flames, which destroyed the garage and caused smoke damage to the attached house. Both men were also treated for smoke inhalation.

"Using fire to tackle a wasps' nest is the number one thing not to do," the spokesman said.

"As well as being extremely dangerous, it also made the wasps angry."

    BBC Local Live

In last night's follow-up to the 2001 documentary When Louis Met Jimmy, journalist Louis Theroux looked to understand how a man who was at the centre of British entertainment and charitable fundraising for decades was able to get away with a long litany of sex crimes.

In Savile, he also spoke to people who were friendly with the former BBC presenter, who have had to come to terms with what has been revealed since his death.

    Sylvia Nichol

In February 2015, a report into Savile's activities at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire found he sexually abused 63 people there.

In the programme, Theroux met Sylvia Nicol (pictured), who, as a medical secretary at the hospital, worked closely with Savile on the Spinal Injury Unit appeal and still has a trove of Savile memorabilia.

All her work with him is now tarnished and rendered suspect. She told Theroux of her upset at feeling that her life's memories were at risk of being lost.

She said she "only saw the good" and had she seen anything she "would have been the first to report it".
