Photos taken by a fan of The Jam at an Aylesbury gig more than 37 years ago are being used on the cover of the band's latest live album.

They were taken by Mike Searle when he was 17 and were spotted on his blog by the band's record label.

"What I really wanted to do was to catch him [Paul Weller] jumping with his guitar, because that was his signature move and I managed to get that," he said.

"Universal Studios called up and said, 'we like your photos, we'd like to use them on this live album we are releasing from the same year, are you interested?' And I was like, yes I am!

"I would have done it for love to be honest.

    Mike Searle

"I really want to thank 17-year-old Mike for earning me a little bit of money. The message for other people that age is if you've got a talent, follow your passion and good things can happen."
