Former world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno is one of the most famous British boxers of all time.
Today, Bruno, who lives in the Leighton Buzzard area, spoke to Nick Coffer on BBC Three Counties Radio about his new book Let Me Be Frank, where he reveals details about his boxing career, mental health and family life.
Describing where it all began, in the ring, Frank said boxing brought him "happiness, joy, money, success and sadness".
He said throughout his sporting career, the aim was to always "get in the ring, and get out as quick as possible...because a boxer doesn't get paid overtime, it's the same pay cheque no matter how long the fight is."
After retiring from boxing in 1996, Frank kept busy with other jobs in and out of the limelight, including panto, appearing in TV shows and charity work.
But his battle with mental health was perhaps the toughest fight of his life.
Speaking of the three times he was sectioned, Frank said it was "very, very hard".
On one of those occasions, Frank was at home with his girlfriend when the doorbell rang and he was greeted by doctors, police and a psychiatrist.
An ambulance later turned up and he was told he needed to be sectioned.
"When I got there I thought 'what am I doing here?'," he said.
"People in there are suffering from eating disorders, schizophrenia, depression, bipolar - it was a horrible place to be.
"You've got to line up three times a day and take all this medication, it just takes you to a different world.
"The side effects are terrible."
Despite these tough times, Frank said his book is "not to get sympathy, it's to talk about life".
His main focus is now his charity, The Frank Bruno Foundation, external, which aims to help people struggling with the distress due to mental health issues by providing non-contact boxing sessions.
He signs off with a reassuring phrase about how he is doing now.
"I'm in a good place, I'm very happy. I've been through some hard times, but now I'm just chill."
Not so much a monument to instability, more the product of five years of planning - why Watford's good form this season is no accident.

A hedgehog got himself into a tight squeeze after underestimating his own girth.
It's thought the not-so-little little fellow was snuffling for food on the other side of some metal railings in Back Lane, Great Missenden, in Buckinghamshire, when he became "completely wedged" between the bars.
Luckily his prickly predicament was spotted and the RSPCA was called in to rescue him.
"[He] was struggling to get free - it was clearly distressing him," Grace Mead, from the charity, said.
She had to use metal cutters to slice through the thin bars in order to release the wedged hog.
"It is hard to imagine how this little thing got himself into such a tight squeeze.
"I can only imagine he was tempted by some tasty bit of food on the other side of the bars and got stuck trying to get through."
Since being rescued earlier this month, the hedgehog has been checked over at an animal hospital and released back to the wild, where hopefully he will have learned he is not as thin as he thought he was.
Sabha Khan, 27, has pleaded guilty to murdering her sister Saima Khan at their Overstone Road home in Luton in May last year.
She is due to be sentenced at the Old Bailey on Thursday.

The Conservative MP for Mid Bedfordshire is calling for a change in the law when it comes to dealing with traveller encampments.
Nadine Dorries is due to lead a debate in Westminster today highlighting the issue which affects her constituency and the surrounding area.
There are currently about 40 caravans encamped by the Woodside Link in Houghton Regis, some of which had recently been moved on from Dunstable by police.
Executive member for community services at Central Bedfordshire Council, Conservative Ian Delgarno, said he welcomed the debate.
"The issue of travellers moving around Bedfordshire has become more prevalent and the powers that the council has to deal with this issue aren't strong enough," he said.
"Currently, If the gypsy and traveller community turn up we have to do heath and safety checks and then serve a Section 77 notice, which is a direction to leave.
"If they don't go, we have to go to court and get a Section 78 notice, which orders their removal.
"We would like the criminal justice act to give local authorities the power to give a section 78 notice without going to to court."
The debate is due to take place in Westmisnter Hall at 11:00.

Hertfordshire Police says a cannabis factory in Potters Bar is the largest ever found in the county.
About 1,000 plants with a street value of £700,000 were found inside a house in Hatfield Road on Tuesday, 17 October.
The discovery followed an anonymous call to police by a member of the public and it took officers two days to dismantle the set up.
A 23-year-old man from Barnet was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, abstracting electricity and criminal damage.
He has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Ch Insp Steve O’Keeffe said: "The cultivation of cannabis can put surrounding residents at risk as unlawful electrical wiring used to power the systems to grow the crops creates a fire hazard.
"This case demonstrates the key part members of the public play in reporting anything suspicious in their local area so that officers can act on intelligence and take action to disrupt the supply of drugs across the county."
