  1. Bomb scares mirror series of hoax calls made last weekpublished at 14:16

    Exactly one week ago pupils from four schools were evacuated following threats.

    Students at Holly Lodge, Oldbury Academy and Bristnall Hall in Sandwell were evacuated and lessons at Leasowes High School in Halesowen were halted.

    The force said no suspicious objects were found and an inquiry is under way to find out who made the calls.  

    Today, police say six schools received threats that mirror the series of hoax calls made on 19 January.

    A four-year-old from Walsall who was born with club foot and had to wear special boots, can now swap then for football boots after getting successful treatment at Birmingham Children's Hospital. , external

    A Stourbridge motorist who killed a man while speeding and driving without insurance has been jailed for three years.

    Omar Tariq (pictured) hit Peter Price, aged 39, while he walked home with friends on Hagley Road West, in Quinton, in November last year.

    Police say Tariq was driving at 61mph in a 40mph speed limit area, external and failed to stop.

    He continued to drive "a further third of a mile before pulling on to Birch Lane and calling the police".

    A mother whose daughters attend Oldbury Academy says her daughters were evacuated from the building following a "threat".

    Her daughter Olivia Bowden, 16, explains what happened: "I was in English doing coursework and a teacher came in and told us to leave again because we were being evacuated again."

    BBC WM's Daz Hale has been outside Four Dwellings Academy in Quinton, south Birmingham, which is one of the schools that have been evacuated after bomb threats were made this morning. 

    Bristnall Hall and Oldbury Academy, in Sandwell, have also been evacuated.

    Sandwell Council confirms, external Bristnall Hall Academy, Oldbury Academy, George Salter and Holly Lodge have all been evacuated following bomb threats this morning, which police say are not credible.

    The council says all pupils have been sent home for the day.

    Hurst Road Community Centre in Oldbury has been opened to any students who are unable to return home.

    It seems quite a few people (hundreds) have come forward to claim they bought a winning National Lottery ticket, worth £33m.

    Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust has been deemed "unsafe" because of short-staffed maternity and A&E units and should be put into special measures, an inspector recommends.

    Nine babies died in the womb in one year, the trust reported. A&E patients were not always triage scored to ensure timely treatment, inspectors found.

    The trust, external said it was "already taking urgent action" to improve.
