    Here's some more police detail about those who intervened:

    Within the last few minutes Force Incident Manager Julian Harper said one man tried to help and then "four younger males assisted as well."

    Two members of the public are being treated for minor hand injuries.

    The man arrested following the stabbing of a 40-year-old pregnant woman in Sutton Coldfield town centre is known to the victim, West Midlands Police says.

    He is 41.

    The woman is said to be in a critical condition. She was flown from the scene by air ambulance.

    Two men are being treated for minor injuries after trying to stop a pregnant woman from being stabbed, say police.

    They sustained injuries to their hands.
