    A businessman from Redditch who got caught up in large queues at Birmingham Airport says it was "rammed" this morning.

    Jordan O'Connor checked in and was due to fly to Paris before catching a connecting flight to Lisbon. He says due to the delayed flights, he has missed his connecting flight in France.

    He describes the queues as "crazy" and "irritating" with hundreds of business people and holidaymakers queuing

    There was a good 500 people in the Thomson queue. All the queues were moving very slowly. I was told none of the conveyor belts in the back were working, so everything is being done manually. Normally it takes seven minutes to check in and go through security

    But good news - Jordan is now booked on a connecting flight from Paris to Lisbon later this afternoon.

    An investigation by BBC Breakfast found more than 500 people in England and Wales were arrested for leaving their child home alone in the 12 months to April last year.

    The youngest child involved was just six weeks old but the oldest was 15. 

    A former Birmingham MP has called for more clarity in law.

    Four men and two teenagers have been bailed by police following disorder at yesterday's Wolves-Birmingham City derby game.

    West Midlands Police has released details, external of the offences and say the six have all been bailed with conditions pending further investigation.

    - Two 17-year-old boys arrested for public order offences

    - Man, aged 30, arrested for a public order offence and possession of class A drugs

    - Man, 53, arrested for obstructing a police officer

    - A 23-year-old man arrested for assaulting a police officer

    - Man, 52, arrested for a public order offence

    An estimated 75,000 people lined the streets of Birmingham yesterday for the annual St Patrick's Day Parade.

    This year's celebration marks 100 years since the Easter Rising against British rule. 

    Organisers say the parade is the third largest in the world - but this is the first year it's been staged without council funding, due to budget cuts.

    Birmingham Airport says it's "experiencing technical problems" after passengers reported extensive queues and delayed flights this morning.

    A spokeswoman for the airport says there's an issue with one of the baggage belts at check-in in the south terminal, which serves a number of airlines.

    A West Highland Terrier claimed the top prize at Crufts for the first time in 26 years at the annual dog show.

    Devon was named Best In Show at the annual dog show, an achievement described as "absolutely amazing" by owner Marie Burns from County Durham.

    More than 22,000 dogs took part in the four-day event at the NEC in Birmingham as the competition celebrated its 125th year.

    Birmingham City's promotion hopes took a slight knock as they were held to a derby draw by West Midlands rivals Wolves at Molineux.

    Kenny Jackett's Wolves were the better side before the break, twice forcing Blues keeper Tomasz Kuszczak, their former loan man, into saves.

    Blues took over in the second half, as Clayton Donaldson, Jon Toral and man of the match David Davis all went close.

    But it ended up goalless at Molineux for the second season running.
