    Staffordshire Police is looking to speak to anyone who saw a Doberman dog bite a jogger on Friday at about 16:30 at the junction of Station Road and Rugeley.

    The dog's owner was riding a bike and didn't stop.

    The jogger went to hospital with puncture wounds.

  2. £500m 'Festival Square' planned in Birminghampublished at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2016

    Plans for a £500m "Festival Square" in the centre of Birmingham have been unveiled.

    Birmingham Smithfield , externalwill include markets, shops, cafes, hotels, restaurants, homes and a park.

    The wholesale markets are being relocated and in its place this new hub for festivals and cultural events will be built.

    Consultation on the plan starts on 21 March, when people can have their say on the idea.

    Former Villa player Samir Carruthers has been pictured urinating into a pint glass at the Cheltenham Festival. 

    Pictures show the midfielder relieving himself on a balcony in one of the racecourse stands, despite being surrounded by fellow spectators. 

    Carruthers' current club MK Dons has launched an investigation.

    Firefighters have attended a blaze a house in Wolverhampton, started by a washing machine.

    West Midlands Fire Service says it received a 999 call to a house on Coton Road in Penn at about 10:00.

    Two women who were in the house, managed to escape. One of the women has been taken to hospital to be checked-over.

    Children's phone support charity ChildLine needs more volunteers in Birmingham to keep up with demand.

    ChildLine, external is marking 30 years since it was founded by Dame Esther Rantzen, who has been visiting the Edgbaston call centre.

    She said: "We save lives, we transform lives - what could be more rewarding?"

    A 59-year-old woman who was stabbed at an address in Sutton Coldfield remains in a critical, but stable condition in hospital. 

    Matthew Bennet, 31, from Blaydon Avenue appeared before magistrates today charged with attempted murder.

  8. Crash-death teen 'was happy, bubbly girl'published at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2016

    Police have named, external the teenager who died in a car crash in Longbridge last week.

    Amy McKenzie was the front seat passenger of the car when it was in collision with another vehicle in Groveley Lane last Thursday morning.

    The 18-year-old died the following day in hospital.

    Her family paid tribute to her saying: "She was a happy, bubbly girl who always lived life to the fullest and always had a smile on her face."

    A police probe into the sale of a West Midlands council's former properties has ended with no further action to be taken, it has emerged.

    Labour-run Sandwell Council said it would co-operate with the police when their work began in October 2014.

    The people running Midland Metro say they want to fine anyone caught travelling without a ticket £70. 

    At the moment anyone who is found without a ticket when travelling on the Metro system is given a penalty of £10.
