  2. Boy's 90 mile charity walkpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 8 August 2016

    A nine-year-old Wolverhampton boy has completed a 90-mile walk from Manchester to his home city. 

    Alfie Baugh, who began his journey on Monday, arrived at the Diabetes Unit at New Cross Hospital over the weekend. 

    He's raised thousands of pounds for charity, after being inspired by his father, Dave, who has type one diabetes.

    Five years on from the Birmingham riots that were sparked by racial tension, I've been speaking to a father who lost his 18-year-old son.

    Haroon Jahan died in his father's arms after he was hit in what was described as an orchestrated "chariot charge" of cars.

    An emotive speech by Tariq Jahan ended the riots that could've cost many more lives.

    But he told me time doesn't always heal the pain of losing a child.

    A man has been charged with wounding after a suspected road rage attack, external in Kitts Green, Birmingham on Friday night, police say.

    Daniel Bond, 29, of Elmore Close, Solihull, is due before Birmingham magistrates later. 

    Police say a 37-year-old man remains in a critical condition in hospital after an assault in Gressel Lane (pictured) at around 18:30.

    The search for two Birmingham teenagers missing off the Welsh coast continues this morning. 

    The 14 and 15-year-old's were swimming in the sea at Barmouth Beach when they got into difficulties yesterday afternoon. 

    They were part of a large group visiting the area.

  10. Third charged in teenager's murder inquirypublished at 10:01 British Summer Time 8 August 2016

    A third person has been charged with the murder of a Birmingham teenager, external who was killed in March, police say.

    Kenichi Phillips, who was 18, was shot dead as he sat in the back of a car in Ladywood on 17 March just before 19:00.

    West Midlands Police say Deandre Bailey, 24, of no fixed address, will appear before Birmingham magistrates today.

    Two others have already been charged with murder and are in custody; Dean Silvera, 37, from Dial Close, Druids Heath and a 17-year-old who cannot be named due to his age.

    West Midlands Police are also looking for Isaiah Wright-Young, external, 36, from Birmingham who they have named as a key suspect.

    A man is in hospital after being shot in Saltley in the early hours of this morning, external, police say. 

    Police say the 28-year-old has "non-life threatening injuries" to his arm. 

    The shooting on George Arthur Road (pictured) is being treated as "a targeted attack", West Midlands Police say.
