    Police in Dudley say young men aged between 15 and 19 are the most likely to be carrying a knife. 

    The message follows three stabbings in eight days in the borough, the most recent of which - in Brierley Hill on Saturday evening - was fatal.

    The number of women fleeing abusive relationships is on the increase. 

    In the West Midlands almost 2,000 women were referred to refuges last year and staff at one charity say children are often affected the most.

    The Buddy Bag Foundation, external from Lichfield is providing basic essentials and toys for those children in emergency care.

    Police have released footage of a brothel being petrol bombed.

    Six people today were sentenced for their part in running Birmingham's Libra Club - which was targeted in the arson attack in September 2014.

    The venue was shut following a police raid in February 2015.

    A Birmingham man who kept a golden eagle in his kitchen has been banned from keeping animals for 10 years, the RSPCA says, external

    Adam Smith, of Brook Lane, Billesley, left the bird in what the charity said was a filthy kitchen in a flat he owned in Pembroke, Wales. 

    RSPCA inspector Keith Hogben said: "It was the craziest thing I have ever seen. It is totally just unthinkable."

    Smith pleaded guilty to one offence under the Animal Welfare Act and also received a 12-month community order and was ordered to pay a £73 fine, plus costs. 

    The RSPCA says the bird is now in specialist care and doing well.

    Detectives have named a Brierley Hill man who died after being stabbed in the stomach at the weekend

    A murder inquiry into Mansoor Mahmood's death is now under way.

    The 24-year-old was found outside the fast food shop Dixi in High Street, Brierley Hill, at around 16:45 on Saturday. He died in hospital.

    A forensic post-mortem examination revealed Mr Mahmood died as a result of a stab wound. 

    Detective Inspector Harry Harrison said:, external "We are still piecing together the circumstances of Mr Mahmood's death but strongly suspect this was a targeted attack and that the two people involved may have known each other."

    A social club in Halesowen is to be knocked down to make way for a car park extension for a next door branch of supermarket Lidl. 

    The plan, approved by Dudley councillors, had been opposed by club members who said it would mean the loss of an important community venue.
