  2. Man killed in fall from flat windowpublished at 08:54 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2017

    A man has died after falling from a flat window in Birmingham.

    An investigation has been launched into the circumstances of the fall, which police said they attended at around 21:55 GMT on Monday.

    Stratford Road near to the junction of Camp Hill Circus and Kyotts Lake Road is cordoned off while emergency services carry out their investigations.

    The man is thought to be in his 40s.

    Police in the Midlands are spending an increasing amount of time dealing with missing children , according to a new report.

    Figures from the National Crime Agency showed the number of children reported missing to West Midlands Police last year had increased by nearly 75% compared to 2015. 

    It's throught around one in five people who goes missing has a mental health issue.

    A BBC investigation has found evidence to suggest the introduction of a so-called " clean air zone " in Birmingham might not prove effective.

    Poor air quality is linked to around 900 early deaths a year in the city. 

    The proposal is supposed to cut nitrogen dioxides, but  Inside Out  has found that similar schemes in Germany have not made a significant difference.

  14. Two 'attempted murder' arrests after baseball bat attack in Aston published at 16:40 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2017

    Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was clubbed with a baseball bat in Aston.

    The 20-year-old injured man is still in hospital recovering from the attack which happened on Chester Road industrial estate on 16 February.

    West Midlands Police revealed a 23-year-old man and a 35-year-old man had been arrested after "extensive inquiries".

    Witnesses are being urged to come forward with information.

    Police were called to a Tesco store in Hodge Hill yesterday afternoon following reports a man had collapsed in the changing rooms. 

    The man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to hospital and died shortly after.

    A school has paid tribute to a nine-year-old boy who collapsed and died following a suspected allergic reaction.

    The boy, whose name has not been revealed, was described by Birmingham's Al Hijrah School, external as a "very popular member of the class".

    The Bordesley Green school said it was in "great shock after the sudden death" and its "thoughts and prayers were with his family".
